It is very normal to go to places, see them or yourself different if you stay relaxed and keep your mind free even if your eyes are open (or automatically even if you don't but rarely). I'm actually practicing going to places with my mind all day but didn't get very far yet (I can't get over the point where I'm concious I am in my room and I exist here and as long as I remember that I cannot do anything).But it's a very nice thing to accomplish you can have dreams while not really sleeping (at some point thow when you are trapped between both worlds it's a bit painful. Like when it's 6AM then suddendly someone turns on the light and starts bugging you to wake up while you're still half asleep).
That's I think how I realised that places and views you look at are not exactly the original thing. You'd be surprised to see what happens when you're in a place you know so well and you're used to and say it's nothing unusual then remain half asleep there and see that place from the other world and it's something totally different, every place is something different then what we see while just passing by (I used to see the original places all the time when I was younger but now I have to try a whole excercice to).
So if you want another daydream it's easy and also very nice so keep trying. I can't wait to learn more too ^^
