Which do you prefer for the header?

Personally, I like the second one. But, what do you think?

Depends. If the second one is only like that when you are using Inferno, then the second is awesome.

I could definitely set up something like that. The original plan was to have it always there, as it is in the other skins (see KParadise v1, Sigma, Kitsune 1).
