In addition to Sonic Colors Ultimate and unnamed new game that's coming out next year (which is presumed to be called "Sonic Rangers"), there's also a new collection game that's been announced:

By the looks of things, these may actually be the 2011/2013 Stealth/Taxman remakes. I say this, because aside from end of the trailer playing the same sound effect as the one heard in those versions, the games have also been shown to have widescreen display, along with Sonic's shoes having the white stripe on them while bouncing on a spring in Sonic 1 (which was not the case in the Genesis original, and was corrected in the 2013 remake).

In regards to Sonic 3 & Knuckles, however... While they did show an emulated version in the trailer, it's been hinted that this does not represent the final product. There was a Sega representative on Twitter who confirmed that it will have widescreen like the other three games. Plus, it should also be taken into account that Stealth and/or Taxman started on a proof-of-concept Sonic 3 & Knuckles remake about seven years ago, almost, which may have finally gotten a greenlight.

Hmm, there's a chance that Tails may actually be playable in this version, according to what was shown in this video:

*YAWN* So far, I'm not impressed.

Meh. Unlike a vast majority of the fandom, I've never been a huge fan of the Wii version of Colors. I find it to be overrated beyond belief. I'm not necessarily saying it's a terrible game; I'm just saying that I don't think it's anywhere near as good or flawless as so many people make it out to be. I personally preferred the DS version, but maybe that's just me. Speaking of which, it's also been rumored that this so-called "Ultimate" version of Colors is going to contain content from both the Wii and DS versions of the game. If this is true, then I'm all for it.

That's an awesome find. Sadly, this seems to run on very few emulators other than Mupen64 at the moment.

Also, there's now a mod that replaces Fox with Sabre:

Supposedly, Miyamoto's entire reason for suggesting the conversion, is because he thought that Sabre resembled Fox. While the two characters sound the same (since they're voiced by the same guy), they honestly don't look all that much alike. This seems like a case of grasping at straws to me.

what ultimately became the swan song of rare's nintendo days before microsoft swiped them right after this ultimately was hastily retooled for the gamecube and launched in the form of star fox adventures, 2 years after this build's date, this one appears to be a late build already well in the transition into the star fox franchise, indicating that the transition started earlier than most thought

its a wonder how sparkling zone got as far as it did to survive in a demo prototype build to be reviewed by the media before sonic team realized it as an epileptic mess and rather underdetailed for what should be expected from a 16-bit platform of those days

also there's data from 2/90 leftover in it
