Title: New years whine
Post by: Fledgling on Dec 31 2008, 09:33 PM
Well nothing as predictable as feeling down during new years, eh? What a personal let-down.

But I guess, that it's because so many people are having good times and get togethers now, hm? Seeing them, ah, it makes me so jealous, then again, lately, seeing another human talking with another has filled me with discontempt. Really, I can't stand going to town, because its people, people PEOPLE EVERYWHERE doing their things, going to stores or cafes I'd never dare to... geh, and whenever someone looks at me, they look at me that way, that fucking way we all know and love and just plain says "you don't belong here".

I don't hate people, but I don't like being an outsider, never did. I want to move far away from people and take a pause from them.

Any moment now I am going to snap and do something stupid.

Edit: And those wondering what I did on new years: Nothing. I wasn't invited to anything because I got nobody to invite me to anything.

Well... I would invite you to my party... if you lived near me... and if I actually had a party...

Um, okay?

I didn't do anything for new years either. I'm used to doing nothing a lot.

Oh boy I feel tons better today, but my stupid illogical dislike of random other people still persists.

And I'm probably gonna do a whole lotta nothing or something. Maybe video games.

Speaking of video games, I played The Elder Scrolls III, and I killed two Dremora Lords. Yeah!

It's pretty funny when you sell the dark brotherhood stuff to the merchant in seyda neen and he instantly equips it.

Huh? I are confuzzled.

I haven't really gotten to the Dark Brotherhood bit yet. I just finished with talking to the informants in Vivec... Which is where I killed those two Dremora Lords I was talking about (I got lucky, since the second one somehow got stuck between a pillar and a candlestick :P) Dang... Those guys are tough... But I love my new Daedric sword ^.^

Oh it's just that sometimes you get assaulted by a dark brotherhood assassin really early on, even before you encounter a mage dropping out of the sky. (but maybe you took a silt strider instead of walking to balmora or w/e)

I took the path that lead by Pelagiad, but I know what mage you're talking about; he drops those Scolls of Icarian Flight (which should never be used :P)
I think you get attacked by the Dark Brotherhood assassin when you rest after getting to a certain level (level 6, I think...)

I thought the assassins came in the Tribunal expansion? Maybe I'm thinking of something else?

Also, I guess I played ArmA doing new years, but whatever.

I've killed a few more Dremora Lords now. I've got a good strategy: I use my Amulet of Shades to summon a Bonewalker, then grab the 'offerings' from the shrine to make the DL appear. The Bonewalker distracts them, (and, hopefully, gets in some attacks) and I continuosly replace my Bonewalker whenever it goes down. This way, the DL will waste its spell-casting energy, and come at me with normal attacks. This is where it can get tricky, since they can wield both Dwemer and Daedric weapons (ouch!). Then, I use my awesome Daedric Longsword to hack them up. So far, this strategy has worked pretty well for me.

P.S.
I've actually acquired most of a set of Ebony armor (actually, I have a whole set, I just can't carry all of it :P)

Also, if you feel like being an ass, turn the console on and click on the offerings. One of them will be cursed. Simply don't pick it up and avoid the fight =p

Also, there's a way to somehow make it so whenever you pick up that certain gem another Dremora lord appears if you feel like fighting a bunch =p

I'm playing on the X-Box, so... No console v.v And damn, how can one tomb be so damn hard to find? Stupid Ash Lands (a.k.a. Ass-Lands) Why do you have to be so hard to navigate? Stupid hard-to-pronounce Ashlander tomb... Stupid Flame Atronachs... Stupid Greater Bonewalkers... Stupid Cliff Racers...

By the way, I purposely fight the Dremora Lords, since they drop such good/expensive weapons :P
