Let's see, seven months. I think it's about par for ranting about my job, hm? It's pretty much
the same shit as before. Why I decided to go back to this is beyond me. Perhaps, I secretly enjoy this, in some sick, twisted, masochistic kind of way. Regardless, it's a job, and it is better than WalMart. Relatively, of course.
So, we have... People who want beer after the cut-off time. I had one asshole try to get beer at 4am, and suggest that I'd let him walk out with it, without paying. Then he got pissed off at me because I was watching his friend to make sure he didn't try anything funny. Well, of course I'd be suspicious of you. That's like going to an airport and suggesting that you'd bring a bomb on board.
And then there's the morons who come to the store all the time and ask for "Garcia Vegas", which we don't sell, and they should know this from the last 50 times they came asking for that brand of cigar. We don't have it. We never will have it. Sod off.
Parents seem to enjoy bringing their little kids into the store. Screaming, whining, asking me to count their money and see if they have enough for a hot dog or whatever. Really? There needs to be a law against parents taking their kids out after a certain time at night. Kids that age should be sleeping. It's no wonder they're cranky - they're fucking tired and want to sleep.
Delivery nights are bullshit, too. They have someone scheduled til 1am on Sundays and 12am on Wednesdays. On Sunday, the truck always arrives late. They're supposed to be there at 11pm. They arrive just before 1am, which means I am left to put frozen product away myself, and put up with a busy store at the same time. Wednesdays aren't as bad, except the truck is sometimes early, and my help that night is slow as fuck. I'd have to wonder when they're going to get their heads out their asses, and put two people on for the full night. That way, things can be done.
This is just the beginning, too. I'll only have to suffer with this for a few more months, fortunately. Depends on what the future brings.
