This'll probably top even Waterworld and Super Mario Bros. Movie in sheer God-Awfulness.  Not to mention that damn Street Fighter movie.

To FOX- If you don't want to end up filing for bankruptcy, STOP MAKING THIS MOVIE!!!

signed,
The guy whose trying to save your asses

It's probably too late by now, though

Hope Matt can find another network to air The Simpsons.

...so the movie's been released in japan and reviews indicate that it sucks as I and countless others thought...

and as if it could get any worse...rumor has it that a sequel has been planned...

dreams are as portals, flat visions of misty places, fragments bound below my surface.

^ Word. Also, there are people who say that the Super Mario Brothers movie is bad, but this is even worse. I may be wearing nostalgia glasses, or something, but despite not being a very accurate adaption of the Super Mario franchise, it still excelled at being a good movie. Dragon Ball Evolution, on the other hand, fails on both accounts.

Ha-ha-ha-haaa! The movie Nintendo likes to think doesn't exist...

But its a simple case of ignoring it, isn't it? Go in with pessimism. Or probably not at all. If its crap, then pat yourself on the back for saving some money. If not? Be surprised that such a thing is worth the time and effort of making it. A win-win back-up solution.

Not exactly. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Super Mario franchise, stated that he actually enjoyed the movie. The actors, on the other hand, hated working on it.

lol. Well, as a part of the Mario cannon, it sucks.

The only good bit is the De-evolution machine. An interesting way of doing something nasty in a kid-friendly way.

As a movie in its own right...I do like it. If only because its so ridiculous and cheesy!

You know, now that you mention it, it was that very movie that inspired the idea of Luigi and Daisy officially being a couple.

As for the cheesiness part, I agree. Especially during the one scene where Mario and Luigi were interrogating Koopa's minions, Iggy and Spike. Luigi said to one of them, "WHERE'S Daisy, butt-breath!?". That line was just so hilarious to me. It's so hilarious, that I'd rewatch the movie again JUST to see that part, but maybe that's just me.

The instant you have talking dinosaurs and take things 'seriously', your likely to get put with the Power Rangers. Which is where I put this film. At least Bob Hoskins was a convincing Mario in appearance. The videogame Mario's voice would probably get annoying after a while...

Yeah, probably. I guess that's why he's usually portrayed as a "silent protagonist", particularly in the RPG games. Also, now that you've brought Bob Hoskins up, this page says it all. It perfectly sums up how much he hated working on the Super Mario Bros. movie.
