Title: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Sep 10 2015, 01:36 AM
via AR tech, your real-world pokemon dreams are coming true

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2sj2iQyBTQs

perhaps the best effort in phonegame pokemon games yet, this one will be close to the main games, and may even be able to link with them
Title: Re: pokemon go

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHgCmnVvfTI&feature=youtu.be

one major change between this and the main games is wilds can't be battled against, and that one either goes to a real-world area marked as a gym to battle CPU opponents or battle another player for EXP

trainers now have their own level and gain their own EXP on captures

crystals seem to be an alternate currency

the capture mechanic is probably close to the main games

what can the "535" on the ivysaur mean? some kind of rumble-esque power level?

http://static3.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1179/11799911/3026702-pok%C3%A9mon+go+device+4.png

- the traditional pokemon level system seems to have been replaced with "CP", which might be some kind of rumble-styled power level
- mass capture of the same species is a possible evolution trigger
- pokestops carry eggs and items, and eggs hatch the same way as the main games (breeding remains unknown at this point, though the lack of gender displays points to unlikely)
- achievement medals
- trainer level influences the strength of found wilds and quality of found items
- one of 3 color coded teams can be joined at one point, and a pokemon can be stationed at an empty gym
- opposing teams can battle a gym pokemon and attempt to take the gym's control

starting to sound more like "pokemon rumble ingress" minus the poketoy aesthetic than the pokemon journey simulator everyone hoped for

how will legendary encounters work then if we can't battle wilds?

i bet AUS is filled with kangaskhan, sandile, doduo, and poison types

and because no kiwi pkmn exists yet, NZ will have to do with mareep flocks as far as the eye can see

Apparently, beta testers in other regions are able to get in early. There's also the APK some users are downloading from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/niantic-inc/pokemon-go/pokemon-go-0-29-0-release/pokemon-go-0-29-0-android-apk-download/

wouldn't try downloading from unofficial sources (non-appstore) in case they start banhammering accounts/devices on people trying to play early

the amount of early players trying to get in apparently raped the servers

"GPS signal not found"

this is a brand-asswhipping new LG V10, supposed to be one of the best smartphones to play on

maybe the provider's reception is too crappy here (at home) to do anything (AT&T)
3 or 2 bars come up and disappear constantly
but i know the GPS works here on other programs

got into developer settings
mock location is off
GPS seems to communicate fine in maps
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Jul 09 2016, 03:11 AM
seems the back cover i got for my smartphone was hampering signals somehow
i took it off and it got to working

for once i finally get in and got my starter charmander

the following pokemon are wild where i live

eevee
pidgey
spearow
zubat
clefairy
bellsprout
weedle
maybe poliwag

caught pidgey, spearow, and zubat
in case pokemon appearances are time-reliant, this was all at night

there's a gym nearby and someone has their eevee in it
i want to go around town to look for pokespots when the weather gets nice

can't wait for the plus unit to come out

pfffth AT&T 4G reception is too poor in my neighborhood for this to be any fun here
i dropped a near-fortune on this damn phone and can't even use it even as a standard phone at home, need to walk down the road for it to make/take any calls

most of my captures were around my wi-fi router, which is like the only time this game is cooperating around here
growlithe
caterpie
2 more pidgeys

the only thing i managed to capture outside my wi-fi's range is a nidoran-F
it froze when it got in the pokeball to where i had to get off the program, when i got back on, i hit level 3 and said nidoran-F was in my roster

surprised there's actually a pokespot in my neighborhood though (a random plaque)
got 3 pokeballs out of it at least

the nearest gym went yellow and has a fearow in it (certainly won't hit level 5 before i return phone)

will return this phone later today, hope to get most of my money back, quit business with AT&T and find someone else

update:
got suggested virizion* wireless, will begin looking into it

*completely intentional pun

CP records before i return the phone:
pidgey CP40
nidoran-F CP36
caterpie CP26
zubat CP25 - missed like 8 balls on this bastard due to its small size and erratic movements
growlithe CP16
charmander CP12
pidgey + spearow CP10

This translates to roughly 2lbs at 3ft. Average Vaporeons are 60lbs. I don't think they thought the height/weight thing through at all. She dodges like a boss, though!

heard somewhere that XS pkmn are weaker but dodge better and attack faster, while XL pkmn are stronger and have more HP but find it hard to dodge with and attack slower

water gun/aqua tail pretty much has been accepted by the playerbase as vape's best moveset post-nerf, now its hydro pump or bust

that vape has poop IVs though, pokeassistant IV calc's telling me it's in the 66%-60% range with a possible single digit stamina value no greater than 4

Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Jul 15 2016, 01:31 PM
vaporeon is meta eeveelution

massive HP stat just like in the core games, take almost any other pkmn alongside a vape, and the vape's HP will be more than twice of the other pkmn
it has tank levels of HP, hits like an 18-wheeler and timer-stall out its challengers at gyms that it holds up

only flaw is it's entire movepool is water type and waters/ices/grasses/dragons wall it
electrics and grasses with worth a damn CP are just rare as hell for some dumb reason

best bet against one is just about any capable grass type or a dragonite not screwed over with steel wing
alternatively a water type with one move not resisted by the water type
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Jul 16 2016, 06:05 PM
so the main method of levelling up

- catch shitloads of caterpie/weedle/pidgey
- activate lucky egg
- use all their candies to evolve them

those pkmn only need 12 of their candies to evolve
earning 3 candies per capture, one only need to catch 4 to evolve one
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Samui on Jul 16 2016, 06:20 PM
That's how I've been levelling up, sans the lucky egg. Saving that for better levels.

Also, we should make more threads instead of keeping all discussion in this one.
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Jul 18 2016, 02:00 PM
turns out as one goes up levels, the catch rates begin to plummet
even fodder like caterpie/weedle/pidgey begin to break out of poke balls

guess they want you to go loiter at your best possible pokestop cluster for the great/ultra balls after you unlock them
the real pisser is the lack of greats/ultras in the shop even after unlocking them

pokeGO uses a 0-15 IV system, each pkmn has a base stat for attack, defense, and stamina
it's said that hatchlings are more likely to have better IV spreads

IV calc

so i found one of my eevees might be perfect/near-perfect

max. perfection 100%

Title: Re: pokemon go

apperently there has been a nest species shift

from reddit folk:
Quote
Abra -> Growlithe
Bellsprout -> Poliwag
Charmander -> Bulbasaur
Clefairy -> Nidoran M
Cubone -> Drowzee
Diglett -> Paras
Doduo -> Ponyta
Dratini -> Eevee
Drowzee -> Seel
Eevee -> Magikarp / Clefairy
Electabuzz -> Jynx
Gastly - >Magnemite
Growlithe -> Meowth
Geodude-> Machop
Hitmonchan -> Voltorb
Hitmonlee -> Krabby
Jigglypuff -> Vulpix
Jynx -> Scyther
Krabby -> Shellder
Machop -> Growlithe
Magmar -> Electabuzz
Magikarp -> Pinser
Magnamite -> Geodude
Mankey -> Meowth
Nidoran F -> Sandshrew
Nidoran M -> Nidoran F
Oddish -> Jigglypuff
Onix -> Doduo
Pikachu -> Ekans
Rhyhorn -> Cubone
Pinsir -> Magmar
Ponyta -> Bellsprout
Sandshrew -> Pikachu
Scyther -> Staryu
Shellder -> Slowpoke
Slowpoke -> Tentacool
Squirtle -> Charmander
Tangela -> Cubone
Tauros -> Magmar
Voltorb -> Gastly
Vulpix -> Clefairy

so apperently the dratini nest i found gave way to eevees, who already can be found everywhere as is

then all the eevees elsewhere gave way to clefairy and magikarp, guess i'll be seeing more karp often (more the opportunity to farm the shitload of candies karp needs to evolve, that and i found a above average stats karp to work with)

they really should've let us battle wilds

- use the gym battle system
- fainting a wild pkmn yields an amount of stardust and its species' candy depending on the level difference between your battling pkmn and the wild pkmn's CP levels
- a weakened wild pkmn has a better capture rate
- 50 trainer EXP for defeating a wild pkmn
- change stardust and candy gains to vary based on the captured pkmn's remaining HP and CP (the minimum gain being the current 100 stardust and 3 candies)

if it were like this it would've been much more fun and closer to the core games than this real world safari zone approach they went with

some of us don't regularly do gyms, so we get buried in potions and revives, being able to actually battle wilds would give more purpose to the healing items for someone that doesn't hit gyms enough

it'd appear as one species in battle, then turn into another species after capture

evidence of catch rate drop post-update
https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemongo/comments/4vl7zd/comment/d5zl5an

Quote
Pre-patch average catch chance was like 65 at level 20

Post patch its 45%

Source: im running a bot which tells me the exact numbers pulled from the niantic api because theres no pokestops gyms or anything for ~25 miles from me.

Ofc, that chance is average - higher CP & IV pokemon will have different catch rates

edit:

Some exact numbers since a PM or two asked:

pre-patch

[17:10:55] (PKMN) (CatchSuccess) | (Normal) Golbat Lvl: 6 CP: (259/285) | chance: 54.13%

post patch, closest to identical pokemon I could find:

[17:50:32] (PKMN) (CatchSuccess) | (Normal) Golbat Lvl: 6 CP: (220/285) | chance: 24.92%

....that's like a 50% drop in catch rate, with a bot that gets perfect throws every time. In real world applications (Which I can't do much of because as I said, no gyms, no pokemon, no pokestops etc), I imagine the curve-ball and freezing glitches are gonna turn that 24% into more of a 1-10% catch chance. Niantic have stealth-fucked every legit player of the game, only botters will not be affected by this. GG Niantic.

Edit 2: jumprate and whatever they do to knock the ball back isn't reflected by the bot can't give you numbers on that

signs pointing to niantic turning this into a money-grubbing scheme to make us buy pokeballs in the shop

probably won't matter much for anyone lucky enough to live near an expansive pokestop paradise, but still

they better let us exchange candies or something for changing moves somewhere down the road

so much fucking fun evolving a high stats staryu to a starmie only for it to get both of its worst possible moves (quick attack/psybeam)
pathetic waste of 50 candies

who's the nutjob at niantic who thought of giving no water moves to seaking when goldeen at least gets water pulse and aqua tail

peck
poison jab

drill run
icy wind
megahorn

what it could've got
water pulse
aqua tail
hydro pump

regardless, mine gets poison jab/drill run which, going by pokeGO's lack of immunities, would be perfect coverage against the entire kanto dex (by type matchups in the core games, only the bats and aerodactyl would resist it)
since the bats and aerodactyl are both part a type weak against ground, theoretically drill run should strike them neutrally

would've went with peck for the increased energy charge, but then it'd just be an inferior version of my best fearow

an interesting failsafe

amidst communication troubles, if a wild pkmn gets in the ball, stalls at the shaking animations (usually no shaking at all), then breaks out and flees, the wild pkmn may still be considered caught, check the pkmn inventory for it

this happened to me with a koffing and a lickitung and still got both
would've been pissed if the lickitung truly fled
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Aug 17 2016, 10:02 AM
attack IV generation seem to be affected by a pkmn's dex number
anything late in the dex are more likely to have a high number, while anything earlier are more likely to have a low number

this likely relates to why wild kanto starters almost always have a subpar IV score
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Aug 17 2016, 10:57 AM
speculation suggests one might be able to control what moves a pkmn gets upon evolution by nicknaming parts of its evo's moves to the pkmn

theoretically a pidgeotto nicked something along the lines of "attacane" or "hurritack" can, or at least more likely to become a wing attack/hurricane pidgeot

experimenting with nicknames and moveset influence upon evolution

ekans -> arbok "Gunk Bite"
result - bite/sludge wave

jigglypuff -> wigglytuff  "Pound Beam"
result - faint attack/hyper beam

nidorino -> nidoking "FuryQuake"
result - poison jab/earthquake

spearow -> fearow "PeckDrill"
result - steel wing/twister

on 3 consecutive attempts, one move matched what was referenced in the nickname, with the 4th being a complete failure
there may be some degree of control or could be just luck for what is known, but more must be done before a conclusion can be made
Title: Re: pokemon go

paras -> parasect "Cutter Solar"
result - fury cutter/x-scissor

venonat -> venomoth "Bite Buzz"
result -> confusion/poison fang

meowth -> persian "ScratchRough"
result - feint attack/night slash (lulz wish i was alolan)

exeggcute -> exeggutor "Zen Solar"
result - confusion/seed bomb

staryu -> starmie "GunPump"
result - water gun/hydro pump

conclusion = there is no trick, this gacha RNG shit is more poisonous than that koffing they found in the holocaust museum
how much noise do we have to make to convince niantic to add a move tutor?

moveset change:
http://pokemongohub.net/niantic-adds-new-movesets-reduces-dodge-effectiveness/

- chansey benefitted the most, STAB hyper beam and being a titanic HP wall on gym defense will make it annoying
- brick break is still outdamaged by stone edge, so stone edge will remain staple for hitmonlee
- water gun still will be preferred over tackle for starmie
- starmie also has psybeam replaced with psychic, now giving it a better dual STAB set
- quick attack is garbage and the weakest of the fast normal moves because of its cooldown, even with STAB it doesn't outperform neutral zen headbutt. tackle still remains preferred on porygon though zen headbutt gives it something against fighting and poison types and things that resist normal
- gengar gets a slight improvement, sludge bomb outperforms sludge wave just by coming out faster
- the switch to mud slap improves dugtrio and golem a little defense wise
- weezing losing acid leaves it with non-STAB tackle as its lone fast move
- bite and dragon breath are identical to each other in everything but type, however losing dragon breath means gyarados becomes less threatening to dragonite
- muk gets lick, giving it an option against psychics and it charges special energy faster, but DPS wise will still prefer poison jab
- seel and jiggs are NFEs, their moveset shift will have zero effect on their evos

doesn't look like it'll change on already captured pkmn, all my pre-shift pkmn have the old move
and people are reporting that any pkmn captured before the 8/20 moveset shift still have a chance at the retired moves

when trading happens, some of these old set pkmn (dragonbreath gyarados) might have high demand unless they change those too

would've preferred fire blast but then again i'm still holding out for the inevitable move tutor update, and heat wave at least comes out faster for now

low kick is appreciated so it's not walled vs. other fire types, and it's fast and helps build the energy meter, that and my flareon and ninetales already have monotype movesets anyway
Title: Re: pokemon go

an idea for a move tutor
transfer 5 pkmn with the desired move to tutor to a desired pkmn

ex:
want to nix night slash for cross chop on that primeape with godly stats? hunt down 5 of any machop/psyduck/mankey (those being common) with the move and transfer them

and maybe, there could be "hidden" moves only obtained through the tutor
Title: Re: pokemon go

GOplus better provide a higher capture rate than an excellent curveball toss after razz to be worth using if it only captures already caught species

also it should get items from a pokestop without tapping the screen, but the official site states otherwise
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Aug 30 2016, 01:41 AM
should a seaking w/ megahorn prefer peck or poison jab, hmm

poison jab
type:poison
pwr 12
cooldown 1.05 sec
EPU 7
EPS +6.67
DPS 11.4
STAB DPS 14.3
SE: fairy grass
NVE: ghost ground poison rock steel

poison/bug walled by:
beedrill line, arbok line, nidoqueen line, nidoking line, golbat line, venomoth line, tentacruel line, magneton line, muk line, gengar line, weezing line, aerodactyl

peck
type:flying
pwr 10
cooldown 1.15 sec
EPU 10
EPS +8.7
DPS 8.7
STAB DPS 10.9
SE: bug fighting grass
NVE: electric rock steel

flying/bug walled by:
magneton line, aerodactyl, zapdos

in my opinion while peck does less damage, it charges the energy bar faster and is of a better offensive type, theoretically it should be able to pull off megahorn faster
but whoever at niantic put together seaking's movepool was clearly drunk or something, at least give it hydro pump
same guy must've done kingler's too, i'd nix metal claw for bubble
Title: Re: pokemon go

it's hard to call the trainers of pokeGO "trainers"

when the extent of pokemon training here is making them snort stardust, eat candies apparently made from the remains of their brethren, and praying to arceus that their pkmn scores at the movepool gacha machine when it evolves

in the core games we're still stuffing them up with performance drugs and candies, but at least we have some damn influence on their moveset

salt because i got another fucking x-scissor parasect, another night slash persian, and another confusion/psychic venomoth out of high IV hatchlings

i'm only one electric yellow rat away from raichu, and i'm pessimistic of its potential moveset

spark/thunder punch = 1000 bit
spark/brick break = 2000 bit
spark/thunder = 0 bit

thunder shock/thunder punch = 1000 bit
thunder shock/brick break = 2000 bit
thunder shock/thunder = 500 bit

first to post after this before i make the evolution gets the payout based on how shitty the outcome is

edit:
fixed, must've got it confused with another species

t-shock/thunder's just generic though because my jolteon and electabuzz both have that, spark would allow more variety

at least it's the optimal fast move and tpunch isn't like twister where it's so useless it might as well be an empty slot
a bittersweet end to a long quest, until moveset management happens anyway/if there ever becomes reason to run tpunch over thunder
i'll power it up anyway, once buddy pkmn is live i'll buddy it for the candies and hoard dust for a while

a pika/rai with "breathtaking" stats is hen's teeth rare because of the dex# attack IV glitch and its scarcity in both the wild and in eggs (i caught this bastard in the wild)

fuck why do all my golducks get psychic

this is why the eeveelutions, especially vape, are so overused because they all have only a 1-3 shot at an optimal set while most others are 1-6
therefore you'll have several more optimal eeveelutions than any other pkmn able to have the same/similar set

everything that can have hydro pump
vaporeon - 1-3
gyarados - 1-3
blastoise - 1-6
golduck - 1-6
poliwrath - 1-6
starmie - 1-6
seadra - 1-6
tentacruel - 1-6
omastar - 1-6

gyarados' ease is offset by all the candies it requires

everything that can have thunder
jolteon - 1-3
zapdos - 1-3
raichu - 1-3
electabuzz - 1-6

tshock/thunder is still good on raichu energy gain wise, as spark has reduced energy gain for more damage

everything that can have fire blast
flareon - 1-3
moltres - 1-3
ninetales - 1-6
magmar - 1-6
charizard - 1-6
arcanine - 1-6
rapidash - 1-6

how bad is tpunch raichu over thunder

thunder
pwr:100
full bar
cooldown 4.3 sec

thunder punch
pwr:40
3 segment bar
cooldown 2.4 sec

- about 25 uses minimum of spark to get a full bar ready
-- spark : en.gain 4x25=100, total cumulative dmg = 175
-- tshock : en.gain 7x15=105, total cumulative dmg = 75
-- spark fills 1 segment of tpunch in 9 uses
-- tshock fills 1 segment of tpunch in 5 uses

- if tpunch were a little faster/had 45 pwr like ice punch (and fire punch should've followed suit), it might've been closer to thunder DPS wise

- 3 shots of tpunch is equivalent to 1 shot of solar/hyper beam (40x3=120), slightly beats 2 shots of tbolt (55x2=110) and 3 shots of discharge (35x3=105), in it's very own way (total comulative dmg using up all 3 shots of the whole bar) this makes tpunch the strongest electric charge move in the game

- by this logic twister AKA the bane of every unlucky gyarados' existence shouldn't be so garbage (25x5=125) but it just takes too long to throw that many

- if only we could fire off the whole bar's worth of energy of multi-bar moves with damage multiplied by power value per segment of bar charged over as one strike, then maybe they could be made worthwhile at perhaps the cost of a longer charge time per bar or something
-- it would add to the simplistic battle system as a high risk-high reward sort of thing and give some pokemon more edge, and maybe more niche sets like bulldoze arcanine could grow to popularity
-- that might break some things though, at least without a few tweaks, a few 3 bar charge moves would become disgustingly strong (dig becomes 70x3=210 making it the strongest move in the game, however it has the longest cooldown and the only capable pkmn able to have it are raticate and marowak with the rest being NFEs)

- should've put in volt tackle as a 120 full bar move exclusive to the pikachu line, because mascot privileges

- why do i give a shit about raichu anyway
-- anything over its little yellow rat brother, its infant form, and its peanut gallery of pretenders that grows with every generation

Title: Re: pokemon go

so, mud slap/dig marowak

mud slap en.gain : 9

earthquake energy cost : 100 (full bar)
min mud slap count to charge : 12

dig energy cost : 33 (3 segment bar)
min mud slap count to charge per segment : 4

3 shots of dig, 70x3=210
2 shots, 70x2=140

so if i get this straight, i'd already shoot 2 digs within the amount of time it'd take to ready an earthquake, inflicting a cumulative 140 damage, 20 more than solar/hyper beam and 40 more than one earthquake

- contrary to past official statements, it can now attempt to capture pkmn not logged in the dex
- only pulls from standard poke ball supply
-- when the poke ball supply is depleted, it'll use up great balls instead, vice-versa for ultra balls
- ignores incense wilds, but detects lure wilds
- capture rate is garbage, seemingly no different from a normal poke ball toss - http://heavy.com/games/2016/09/pokemon-go-plus-catch-rate-can-you-catch-catching-how-to-often-do-flee-break-out-unsuccessful-reviews-complaints/
- tapping an on-screen pkmn disconnects the unit

capture wise it was probably meant for beginners and players who level slowly
i'm more than halfway into lv.27 and my balls are always under the threat of the occasional members of the viridian forest friends who seem rigged by the game at random to have capture resistance bordering on invincibility, jump/ballsmack at the rate of an ADHD kindergartener on a sugar high and run away after the first to 10 balls

when the capture rate dropped those last few updates ago was when niantic got desperate for that precious poke ball revenue
i know like 2 areas good on pokestops where i can refill from single digit poke ball numbers to the 100s in around a couple hours

i have a 100% IV score magikarp

and i'm absolutely never evolving it until moves can be controlled
my resulting disappointment from it ending up with twister is entire orders of magnitude too strong for this universe

this is how awful twister is
- 5 segment bar, 25 damage, 2.7 sec cooldown
- learned by NFE fodder like pidgey and spearow
- slapped on as a troll move for fearow and gyarados
- twister's non-STAB DPS is 9.3 and ranks #224 on pokemongodb.net
- even fast moves outdamage it, the 3 worst STAB fast attacks in the game (karate chop, fury cutter, quick attack) even outdamage it
- the only things worse than twister are other fodder moves reserved for NFEs like wrap

this data shows that if a gyarados gets twister then it might as well just stayed a magikarp

predicted GO stats of future gen pkmn based on core game base stats:
http://pokemongopokedex.site/#johto_pokemons

shuckle = will be between diglett and magikarp in CP score
smeargle = piss poor stats notwithstanding, how the hell will his moveset work
ho-oh = outranks mewtwo's CP limit
porygon2 = can't wait, have 2 high stat porygons ready
slowking = same CP as slowbro
ampharos and lanturn will be high-scoring electric types
kingdra = have several high-stat seadra and counting, can't wait

also actual dark types

players are reporting that the attack IV glitch was repaired

again the glitch made it so a wild pkmn's dex number influenced the attack IV
my most recent captured squirtle has an attack IV of either 13/14, when in the past, it would almost always be 0 or some other single digit number

my GOplus arrived

but they should at least consider buffing the capture rate when catching with it, the equivalent of a nice curveball throw w/ razz at least would be fair
can't trust this thing to capture anything but the fodder one can find wild between pallet and pewter, and zubats

and it shouldn't take 10 secs max to detect a pokestop or a wild pkmn in range
the improved distance tracking is great though

wonder if the GOplus has any easter eggs attached to it
remember those myths about holding down-B or whatever in the core games improved your capture chances

in fact i have numerous pkmn caught in my home town and the game says they're from that town, others have no town specified (empty space before a comma)

steel/dark is resisted only by poliwrath, but who the hell would sacrifice STAB for that

the act of tsuji-giri sounds like something that'd fit with scyther's character

Post by: Yerix on Oct 17 2016, 02:39 AM
how I think mega evolution should work in GO

if a specific pkmn wins enough individual gym battles, willow should come up after the gym battle and give your pkmn its appropriate mega stone
(for charizard or mewtwo, you're given the choice between X or Y)
rather than have the mega stones be items, they should be awarded to individual pkmn

on the pkmn's stat screen, an icon of the pkmn's mega stone now displays next to its cp value

in battle, there is now a red bar below your special attack bar
this bar is full at the equivalent of 200 energy, which then a mega evolution symbol button appears at the bottom of the screen, tapping it evokes the mega evolution - afterwards, the red bar disappears for the remainder of the gym attack
alternatively, the GOplus' button could be pressed to evoke the mega evolution instead, as a psuedo-mega ring of sorts - it'll begin vibrating and cycling colors when the mega evolution is ready

your pkmn's CP changes to reflect its megaevo's new stats, and its moveset stays the same

if anyone wants to translate the megaevos' base stats to GO format, i pulled these formulas from the silphroad folks

Code: [Select]
Stamina = 2*HP

Attack = 2*Round(Atk0.5*Sp. Atk0.5+Spd0.5)

Defense = 2*Round(Def0.5*Sp. Def0.5+Spd0.5)

(Attack + IV) * (Defense + IV)0.5 * (Stamina + IV)0.5 * (0.7903)2 / 10 to find the CP at level 40

mega venusaur
max CP 3466
base stamina 160
base attack 238
base defense 260

mega charizard X
max CP 3646
base stamina 156
base attack 280

base stamina 158
base attack 254
base defense 252

mega beedrill
max CP 1237
base stamina 130
base attack 118
base defense 138
*something's wrong here...max CP of base beedrill is 1440, meaning the mega would basically be a downgrade without tweaking to the formulas

since the daily rewards update, i've noticed a larger than before ratio of pokestops giving the 3 item minimum after the event ended

this and the weather getting wetter and colder over here is constraining my ball restock opportunities greatly
the constant pkmn spawn add even more fuel to their cashgrab scheme to get players to shell out for balls in the shop

dynamite sheddy

when gen III comes and shedinja has anything like wonder guard hardcoded on it, it'll be a god in gym attacking

there's only 2 moves on a pkmn and it only has 5 attack types to worry about, so its sure to be able to wall many things

nincada is arguably an early-mon so it'll probably be a common find
as a side note, only a high attack IV would be ideal as sheddy doesn't give two damns about HP and defense
i foresee pkmn with fire/flying/rock/ghost/dark moves becoming wise to put at least a couple in so the gym isn't complete sheddy bait

magneton confirmed lapras murderer

my cp1876 magneton soloed a lapras
- walls all lapras movesets
- super-effective spark
- neutral flash cannon (which still hurts it like hell considering its equivalent to a base 180 (225 w/ stab) attack when all 3 shots of it are fired from max energy)

magneton is now worth using after the CP tweak

anyone struggling to restock balls?

ever since the tracker spread its influence, wilds got a love of gathering around stops
furthermore their spawn timers increased from 15min to 30-60min meaning more are going to be found
hell, i caught 2 fucking dragonites in the last 2 consecutive days and they both were near stops - the bastards blew my ultra ball reserves to the 20s and their cp+stats were below my standards, but the 2nd of them got me my silver dragon medal

the pokestop haven i usually go to for restock runs went from hardly any pkmn at all to being loaded with them
in fact that's where i found my first ditto
i could walk out with like ~150 pokeballs in like a couple hour's stay, but i was nowhere near that number on my last trip
its hard to not try capturing everything in sight when dust and XP are doubled

super-effective should've been a 2x multiplier and be nerfed to 1.25x when dodged

should hyper training be a thing?

like sun/moon it should add to modifiers that add to the IVs but not change the IVs themselves, allowing the pkmn to keep its natural max CP
so a fully hyper trained lv.30 0/0/0 charizard could have the battle capacity of a 15/15/15 charizard of the same level and moveset, but retain its minimum possible CP (about a cp324 difference)

with gen II all but confirmed to be just around the corner, it's crucial that hidden power, counter, and mirror coat be added to the movelist for unown and wobbuffet

hidden power could be a variation of mud slap, taking on a random type running off either the user's IVs or another variable
but no one will be using unown anyway
now if they actually add TMs then a lot of things could appreciate having hidden power and the team leader can unveil a pkmn's hidden power in appraisal

counter/mirror coat should just be fast moves that deal 2x the damage taken from the foe's last attack
they don't charge energy and their typing don't matter as they won't score SE/NVE and stab multipliers, so their typing would only matter if z-moves were introduced (and they'll need a lot of work for the GO format given how cinematically focused they are)

regardless, unown and wobbuffet have the competitive merit of dirt as far as gym defense goes since their cp maximum is calculated to be in the low 1000s
though wobby will have shitloads of HP (third to chansey and blissey until gen VII comes in to bring us guzzlord about 2019 assuming a new gen gets introduced every 5 months) and at least will have a niche for being an annoyance since it't be dealing 2x the damage thrown at it

unown's niche in gyms will be spelling out expletives

there's also a holiday pikachu variant supposedly hitting the wild later today until the 29th

elekid, magby, and smoochum reportedly replaced their evolved counterparts in 10km eggs

the dex entries for the pikachu, clefairy, jigglypuff, jynx, electabuzz, and magmar families now display the silhouette of their gen II prevos

anything else that evolves to or from a gen II pkmn do not show theirs yet, but it looks like all thats needed to put additional pkmn into the wild is to switch them on server-side, enabling their silhouettes as well

oddly enough xmas pikachu/raichu do not (yet) log into the dex as a form

pwr:6
cooldown:0.8
EPU:7

doesn't even break 10 with stab, and most of all it hurts machamp's viability
all they'd need to do is shorten the cooldown closer to that of other 6 pwr moves like water gun, but i guess they love their precious meta-lords snorlax and lapras too much to do that

turn it into fighting type psycho cut with 4 energy gain would help

blissey is going to be satanic in GO

its max possible cp is 2759 at lv30 which is only a few points below lv30 100% IV gyarados (cp2812), with 244 max possible defense and 384 possible HP
gym defender pkmn have their HP doubled, meaning a lv30 blissey on gym defense can have as much as 768 HP (or 832 from a maxed lv40.5)

people are saying that as how stats are calculated now, it might not be possible for a lone player to beat a leveled enough gym defender blissey because of the timer

which is why fighting types need a boost to keep the big normal types in check
buff karate chop you faggots

have gym battles been shitty for anyone since the last update?

gym battles are a touch laggier than usual, sometimes it has trouble telling a dodge from successful or failed, and my pkmn "fake faint" as a result, auto-switching infinitely between the fake fainted pkmn and the next healthy pkmn on the team until i do it manually, or the laggy-ass inputs allow the defender to inflict enough to faint the fake fainter for real

according to poke assistant, some unreleased gen II pkmn have movesets already while most have tackle/struggle as placeholders

tyrogue
F: rock smash/low kick
C: brick break/body slam/low sweep

espeon
F: confusion/zen headbutt

umbreon
F: feint attack/bite

crobat
F: wing attack/bite

meganium
F: razor leaf/vine whip

typhlosion
F: ember/shadow claw

feraligatr
F: water gun/bite

furret
F: quick attack/sucker punch

noctowl
F: tackle/peck

ledian
F: tackle/bug bite

ariados
F: poison sting/bug bite

lanturn
F: water gun/spark

esp/umbre with 2 fast moves? sign of evo control?

seems everyone after togetic just has tackle/struggle placeholders sans tyrogue
they must've intended to bring tyrogue out with the babies until withdrawing him at the last minute amid obvious technical issues

shadow claw typhlo hype?
sclaw: 11.6
ember: 11.9
barely a difference, just hope it gets an all-fire charge move pool

i fear for tyranitar now because its all but certain to be getting the move, and even with stab it's a shitty 16.1 DPS

at least dragonite's charge moves all break 20, imagine blowing 124 candies on a psuedolegend only for it to have the moveset with the competitive merit of a ham sandwich

gender differences look to be already functional as of the new update, at least with pikachu/raichu

http://pokemongohub.net/research-confirmed-pokemon-go-genders-observed-wild/
wild female pikachu

look through your pkmn collections to see if any of them look different

raichu's base model was reverted to female again
if you have all female raichu and all male pikachu, the menu sprites are all male, and the pikachu evolve into female raichu again, then the niantic server you're on must've not updated yet

edit:
all my raichu have the male model now, none of my pikachu have changed (all male models)

https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_GO/Pok%C3%A9dex
https://thesilphroad.com/pokemon-go-moves

quick moves have slowed down a lot, with the best ones now being dbreath and scratch hitting a DPS of 12 (and scratch is still mainly tacked on to NFEs, still leaving persian as the sole remotely reliable user of it)

charge moves have become stronger overall

most of gen I's movesets have been changed, and some piss me the hell off
psychic not only is legacy on alakazam, but zam gets the much stronger future sight in its place, which has every advantage possible over psychic, the kicker is i actually dedicated power-ups on it
a prizewinner reduced to a has-been

if niantic finds it a good idea to not only rig moves to a lottery but change them alongside move statistics and pkmn movepools around, then we really need move tutoring
if not then breeding, which seems more likely anyway, because at least we should be able to pass down the IVs of our obsoleted pkmn to offspring, grind candies from the hatches, and keep evolving the high IV hatchlings until the right moveset appears

why in fuck is mareep and pineco 10km, i don't recall them being anywhere near terribly rare as the rest of the 10km group

my retired/soon to retire pkmn:

vine whip/solar beam

*cp1700 pidgeot
wing attack/hurricane

*cp1981 clefable

cp1772 primeape

cp2463 alakazam

*retirement pending until replacement is found

thunder is now a legacy move, replaced with the weaker volt charge

cp1703 raichu

see above

cp1399 parasect
bug bite/solar beam
bug bite now legacy, replaced with the weaker struggle bug

cp2121 cloyster
ice shard/blizzard
blizzard is legacy, which outdamages hydro pump and the new avalanche
ice shard got an energy gain buff (doing wonders for my lapras apparently) and is a mere .1 difference from frost breath anyway, so the difference between the moves are negligible

cp2194 gengar
shadow claw/sludge bomb
shadow claw is legacy, which outdamages the new hex

cp1677 exeggutor

even if hurricane is like a league above hyper beam, dragon breath should make up for it, being tied with scratch for best quick move DPS, kingdra's the only worth a damn pkmn to have it in stab now, and nobody's going to use persian for scratch

looks like i have a project
have a 14/14/14 dragonite with dbreath/hyper beam laying around

lv.28 cp1607 umbreon ♂
ATK 12/DEF 15/STM 15 [HP=144]
size appraisal : below average
HT 0.89m
WT 20.44kg
snarl/foul play
4 power-ups to lv.30 (dust=19000, candy=16), cp1722 HP=149 @ lv.30
capture date : 2/11/17

used tamao trick
snarl is only a mere 1.0 below feint attack so it's fine, foul play is the best dark charge move

umbreon vs. chansey pound/hyper beam
snarl/foul play - umbreon wins w/ 69 HP left
fattack/foul play - umbreon wins w/ 69 HP left
snarl/dpulse - umbreon wins w/ 65 HP left
fattack/dpulse - umbreon wins w/ 61 HP left

of course my espeon got screwed over with its most butt possible set of zhbutt/psybeam, used my one shot of the sakura trick with it, and its female too for fuck's sake, i'm hanging on to it for when breeding happens because of the rarity of female eevees

eeveelutions are a clusterfuck lottery now because now there's a 1-5 chance for the eeveelution with a 1-3/1-6/1-6/1-6/1-4 for the desired moveset
evo items are in and stubborn niantic still keeps this eeveelution lottery

fuckin' blissey is what satan would look like if hell were a sugar-coated candy land of pink things

my vaporeon had to solo a cp22xx one a couple times, and vape managed to take that bitch down with less than 10 secs on the timer

whoever at niantic made the idea for the valentines day event was a goddamn sicko, that was basically a plot to begin a blissey scourge
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on Feb 18 2017, 11:35 PM
could having a high energy gain quick move + 2 or 3 bar charge move be the new norm for movesets?
i poked around with the pokeassistant battle simulator with some interesting results

ariados infestation/cross poison vs. tangela vine whip/solar beam
= attacker ariados wins w/ 57 HP left

compared to

ariados infestation/megahorn vs. tangela vine whip/solar beam
= attacker ariados wins w/ 52 HP left

infestation gains 14 energy per use
cross poison is a 3 bar charge move, needing 33 energy minimum
infest/Xpoison ariados finishes the battle with more HP than the infest/megahorn one

let's bring lord helix up to the plate

omastar vs. chansey pound/hyper beam
mudshot/apower - omastar wins w/ 57 HP left
mudshot/rblast - omastar wins w/ 49 HP left
mudshot/hpump - omastar wins w/ 45 HP left
wgun/apower - omastar wins w/ 57 HP left
wgun/rblast - omastar wins w/ 57 HP left
wgun/hpump - omastar wins w/ 55 HP left

as you can see, ancient power, seen as the worst charge move in omastar's movepool with a 25.0 DPS, is dominating these charts
is the time to charge hydro pump up causing it to falter?
rock blast is basically a "better" clone of it with 29.8 DPS

i even set chancey to use a defense focused set of zen hbutt and dgleam
wgun/apower - omastar wins w/ 57 HP left
wgun/rblast - omastar wins w/ 55 HP left
wgun/hpump - omastar wins w/ 43 HP left

can ancient power be better than what we originally believed?
where's that wgun/apower omastar i have loafing around...

so with further research, the best legacy dragonite to have is one with dbreath/dpulse

counter/dynapunch machamp and hex/sball or sbomb gengar are living large, as well as everything with hydro pump

might power up this hex/sbomb gengar i evolved not too long ago since i had a load of gastly candies

wonder how breeding will work

how i think it should work:

- allow a daycare stop be erected somewhere, ideally at your home (this can be allowed to change once a month)
- there are 3 daycare slots, typically it'll be one for a female, one for a male, and the 3rd will be the egg they produce
- the daycare can be monitored away from the daycare stop, but no pkmn nor the egg can be moved around
- pkmn in the daycare slot can't be transferred nor can be moved to the buddy slot, evolve, join battles, or be deployed in a gym
- your team leader will tell you whether the pairing is compatible or not, or when an egg is produced
- 1 IV is inherited each from the mother and father, the third IV is randomized, meaning a 1/16 chance of a 100% child if both parents are 100%
- masuda method : if one pkmn in the breeding pair was caught in a country not matching that of its mate, the chances of a shiny child are increased
- move inheritance would be impossible without a massive rework on how moves are handled, however it'd make it possible to grind offspring until their full evolution gets a desired moveset

egg chances:
same species pair - 70%/88%
different species pair of matching egg groups - 50%/80%
a breedable genderless species and ditto - 50%/80%
a breedable gendered species and ditto - 20%/40%
same gender/clashing egg groups/unbreedable - 0%

having the gold breeder badge could be an equivalent of the oval charm in the main games
Title: Re: pokemon go

if 6 espeons and 4 xatus in a row fucking failed to get future sight, then i guess the game decided i either can't have a good psychic type anymore or i'll have to put in several more months of grinding for one vs. the random joe schmo that could get it within their first 3 tries

pulling my obsolete alakazam out of retirement for now to be my flagship psychic because the little gremlin running the moveset lottery seems to have a bead with me again
remembering taking me 8 parasects before one with solar beam came up

at least eevee and natu are common

wtf niantic, holiday pikachu was literally everywhere during the holiday event

and it's obvious partychu's numbers are nowhere near that level over here
so far i've only ever seen and caught 1 partychu, and that was on the night the event started

even the kanto and johto starters are a daily occurrence now, at least for some (squirtle and totodile seem more abundant than originally, and cyndaquil took up a known nest site at one of the local parks)
Title: Re: pokemon go

some prototype imagery

http://www.serebii.net/pokemongo/eveningbig.jpg
currently just day/night is represented, but other times of day are still in the works
note the prototype GOplus icon

http://www.serebii.net/pokemongo/originalbig.jpg
there's some ΩR/αS assets as placeholders, and the buddy slot had the pkmn physically next to the trainer
there might be some simplistic use of weather data in the future
but i don't think we'll ever get an overworld anywhere close to that intricate without the phone spontaneously exploding (though at least they could scale everything closer to real life so your trainer and the pkmn don't look like lumbering giants in the overworld)

actually having the buddy pkmn next to the trainer might be possible now if they could just import all of sun/moon's walk and run animations
also they could make it so we're riding on some pkmn like any of the pokeride mons, rapidash, rhyhorn, and just about any large bodied flying type

88.9% IV razor leaf/solar beam sunflora obtained

before that it was 2 bellossoms
both have wonder appraisals and razor leaf/leaf blade, but #1 has low cp while #2 is lv.30 from the wild as an oddish

so now i have all the sun stone and metal coat evos, and porygon2 (100% screwed over with a mono-grass moveset of hidden power grass/solar beam but will make a good fuckbuddy for ditto when breeding happens, thankfully i still have good porygons left)

and one sun stone left, so i guess keep it for when petilil+cottonee appear in 2019 or so or to make trade fodder
now to wait for a king's rock and dragon scale to come up...

speculation for possible future inclusion of side effects in GO

burn:
- halves atk
- 1-3 dmg every sec
- duration 5-8 secs
- fire types are immune

paralysis:
- doubles move cooldown
- duration 5-8 secs
- electric types are immune

poison:
- 1-3 dmg every sec
- badly poisoned : 2-5 dmg every sec
- duration 5-8 secs
- poison and steel types are immune

freeze:
- immobile
- duration 5 secs
- can be melted away immediately if the victim has a fire move
- ice types are immune

sleep:
- immobile
- duration 3-5 secs (7 secs if rest is used)

bound:
- 1-3 dmg every sec
- attacker can't switch
- duration 6 secs

infatuation:
- works on opposite gender
- unable to use charge moves
- duration 10 secs
- same gender/genderless are immune

confusion:
- 33% chance of a fast move failing and the victim hits itself for the equivalent of a 10 dmg no-type attack with 0.5 cooldown
- duration 8 secs

ghost curse:
- halves user's HP
- cursed opponent is given 2-4 dmg every sec

misc:
- status category moves like swords dance, etc. could ideally become non-damaging charge moves meant to give stat buffs/debuffs/status conditions, and other types of effects
- if status conditions should not resolve after battle, they disappear after battle as a means to not add more items to clutter the pokestop pool

harsh sunlight:
- 1.5x to fire moves
- water moves cut in half
- solar beam becomes a 2-bar move [50]/[50]
- thunder and hurricane now require the equivalent of 200 energy to be ready (a red bar?)

rain:
- 1.5x to water moves
- fire moves cut in half
- thunder and hurricane become 2-bar charge moves [50]/[50]
- solar beam's damage is cut in half (90)

sandstorm:
- 1-2 dmg to all non-rock/ground/steel types per 3 secs
- 50% defense buff to rock/ground/steel types
- solar beam's damage is cut in half (90)

hail:
- 1-2 dmg to all non-icel types per 3 secs
- blizzard becomes a 2-bar move [50]/[50]
- solar beam's damage is cut in half (90)

stat buff/debuffs:
atk/satk=GOatk
def/sdef=GOdef
speed=energy gain rate
accuracy=move cooldown
evasion=increase in dodge damage reduction
- all buffs/debuffs to stats are temporary (like how rumble handles them)
- stat mods should last 10 secs with the timer resetting every time a stat mod is re-applied
- stat mods stack up to 6

why are people talking shit about steel wing/outrage dragonite

pogomoves : #4 / 91.67%
gamepress : C / #7
tripledex : 92% / #3 (not counting impossible move combinations)
goptimiz : 89.48% [powerful counter (ranked n°76)]

gamepress is tryhard central and it should at least be a B set just for having freaking outrage

steel wing functions much better post gen II as an offensive move, now offers the best non-stab DPS out of all fast moves and has a 0.8 cooldown compared to dragon tail's 1.10

outrage does the damage of the average full-bar move for half price, and carries the highest DPE in the game [220]

StWg/OtRg is the best set in terms of dodge-ease

now if held items became a thing and they added items that gave a stab-like boost in damage to a non-stab move (arceus' plates maybe?)

seems niantic turned on a function that makes every wild pkmn spawn unique with different starting CP, moveset, IVs, ht and wt for players at lv1 - lv29

lv30 and up still can get the same stats from the same spawn sans shininess as normal

this should knock scanners, spoofers, mon-snipers, and botters down a peg

https://pokemongohub.net/shiny-release-imminent-wild-pokemon-ivs-moves-stats-now-unique-per-trainer/

- wild initial CP/level are the same for all players lv30 and up, lower levels are always a unique pkmn

Legendaries will be treated with care. There will be limitations on them in gyms. Smeargle and Delibird are hard to code because of their unique moves sketch and present. He's excited for 1v1 battles.

so present and sketch are confirmed coming

gen I charizard vs. gen II charizard

for this test, let's pit them both against a zenbutt/dgleam chansey in the pokeassistant battle sim

all will be lv.30 and perfect IVs

gen I zard wingatk/fblast wins at 66.488 secs w/ 75 HP left [HP rank 2, time rank 1]
gen II zard fspin/ovheat wins at 66.088 secs w/ 65 HP left [HP rank 3, time rank 2]
gen II zard aslash/ovheat wins at 64.588 secs w/ 65 HP left [HP rank 3, time rank 3]
gen I zard ember/fblast wins at 63.789 secs w/ 76 HP left [HP rank 1, time rank 4]

hypothetical zard wingatk/ovheat wins at 66.488 w/ 72 HP left

conclusion:
legacy wingatk/fblast still fairly outperforms the new gen II sets, including the new top set zard of fspin/ovheat (which i already have on flareon anyway)
hopefully you're hanged on to them at this point

volt switch needs confusion's cooldown

DMG 20
EG 20
CD 1.6
DPS 12.5
EPS 12.5

make frail electrics worth using

25 EG on 1.6 CD would be a little too nuts (15.62)
it'd be slightly higher than fury cutter/powder snow

niantic has acknowledged the dodge glitch and has identified it as a synchronization issue between moves
a fix won't be immediate as it'll be part of a larger "battle efficiency clean-up" (the incoming gym revamp?)
Title: Re: pokemon go
Post by: Yerix on May 05 2017, 08:05 PM
seems that lured stops became glitched as now catching pkmn lured to them are triggering softbans

GOplus looks like a workaround to this

symptoms of a softban
- consecutive one-ball bailouts regardless of capture odds (the first successful throw always fails and the wild pkmn flees after breaking out)
- pokestops are unspinnable regardless of cooldown state and always brings up the "try again later" prompt
+ going in->spin stop->out repeatedly on a stop 40 times ends the softban manually

edit:
issue fixed

shame of niantic still using gen VI stats and not using the gen VII buffs

format is
[pkmn][gen][GOatk][GOdef][GOHP][oldCP][newCP]

i see they brought some stealth updates with adventure week

"this ___ is too far away" -> "walk closer to interact with this ___"

display sizes (scale modifier) of pokemon models at stat screens and pokedex got tweaked (probably to combat screenshot scanning IV calculators)
pretty much almost every final evo + lapras, snorlax, etc is hueg like xbox now to the point of obscuring the CP and arc
can't even see steelix's face anymore, meanwhile onix looks like a little worm in comparison

aerodactyl's so big it cuts off at its wings, meaning its displayed through an invisible box

edit:
must've been a slight transgression as restarting the game reverts everything to the previous sizes

anyone notice the introduction of new spawns in places that previously had none?

i work at a local campground, and a pokestop (a basketball court) that previously had nothing spawning around it has begun having spawns as of last saturday

before then, the only spawns were just stuff "in the wild" and at the campground entrance, which also is a pokestop

the kicker is that the area within most of the campground has shitty cellular reception

more stops have converted to gyms today

i scouted my hometown and counted 2 former stops now converted to gyms, as well as a notable increase of spawns, some in new spots and around stops that never spawned any before today

there are now 2 gyms within distance of my neighborhood, and 5 gyms in the hometown, giving me 7 to attack in

the kicker is that once the new gym system officially drops, gyms can also be spinned for items

model shaders got fiddled with again

gastly now has a notable blue tint in the whites of its eyes now, and pikachu has an orange tint

this is not without its errors, as it seems in the progress, party raichu is missing its hat in the model, while its menu sprite retains the hat

people are taking this as a hint toward more shinies being unleashed into the wild, as magikarp and gyarados had shader changes just before their shinies went live

regarding TMs

it's been confirmed the TM won't roll the same move again (ex, steel wing dragonite getting steel wing again)

therefore it'll be easier to change fast moves as they're almost always 2 of them, while there's usually a coin flip between 2 charge moves (or 3 if rerolling from a legacy move)

omgwtflolbbqgrill tiantic

gym coin earnings just got nerfed to beyond literal oblivion, into the 666th circle of hell and deep into satan's rectum like an ugly dildo
1 coin for each hour your pkmn held the gym when the pkmn returned, and if the pkmn returned before it can hold an hour in, nothing is earned

i used to get 1 incubator per week on the old system on average
on this, averaging 6 coins every day, that'll be 42/week, assuming i can have everything hold for at least an hour, long enough until the local family of tryhard instinct players sweep the gyms and load 4-5 pkmn in each every morning (meaning i'll be battling what is basically the equivalent of a lv.4 or lv.5 gym on the old prestige system probably a few times depending on how much motivation is allowed to drop per win)
without google survey rewards, i'll be lucky to buy an incubator in less than a fucking month

in short:
- F2P lone wolves can just forget about coins in particular outside of google survey rewards
- organized groups and families of players on the same team will benefit
- P2P and whales will pump more funds than before

niantic can't use their poke ball revenue scheme anymore with gyms now spinnable and raids rewarding TMs therefore less incentive to capture more pkmn, so they've nerfed gym coin earnings into near nothing

coin earnings got tweaked

- 1 coin for every 10 min the returning defender held the gym for
- 50 coins /day limit

so one defender can earn 6 coins/hr, at a minimum of 16 hrs 40 mins to hit the limit

what i'd like is if the excess hours are changed to 10 stardust /hr or 1 candy of the returning defender's species /hr

there's this gym glitch going around

if you fought a raid in a gym, and then try to fight that gym after that raid expires, at some point in the gym battle, the game seems to outright refuse to load anything:
- constant spinning loader ball
- consecutive network error banners
- gym defender stops attacking and becomes immortal
- attacking pkmn may stop responding
- a possible errorkick out of the gym mid-battle
- in the overworld post-errorkick, the gym you were battling in will show the gym battle animation indicating your gym battle is somehow still active, this should disappear in a while
- temporary inability to heal any pkmn you had in that battle
- attempting to go in any gym results in an error/network error banner during the duration it is showing a battle animation
- battle timer continues to count down; very long time period after hitting 0 until the battle is timed out
- inability to run from battle/switch pkmn; the game continuously tries to communicate with servers but either very slowly or not at all
- GOplus constantly flashes red, indicating server connection is cut
