Staind. Doing a live cover of a Tool song. What the fuck?

This had made me lose what *little* respect I had for Staind. Only Tool or A Perfect Circle should be allowed to sing Tool (or APC) songs. They know how to do it right. Staind...no, just no. Aaron Lewis is just whiney, he changed the lyrics in the song, and he failed miserably at his attempt to touch Maynard James Keenan's awesomeness. The things that he did wrong:

1 - He attempted to sing a Tool song.
2 - I repeat, he changed the lyrics around. It's "Jesus, won't you fucking whistle", NOT "Jesus was a fucking whistler"
3 - Slow, and, once again, whiney.

Sorry, Aaron Lewis, but just because your parents neglected you as a child, does not give you any excuse to ruin a Tool song. You've failed miserably, and I hope you get run over by Tool's tour bus.

Now, I know I said only Tool and APC could only touch Maynard's work, because Maynard would be the one singing it, and he'd do it right. Well, I thought of another cover that a different band did. Evanescence did an acoustic cover of Orestes, which is a song by A Perfect Circle. I would say they did a pretty good job, and could be what APC would sound like with a female vocalist (as they have originally intended). If they did a cover of Sober, I have a feeling it would be pretty decent.

Staind and Tool, just don't mix.

Here's a new one: Staind covering Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb".

That is just wrong. But at least he kept the lyrics the same.

Indeed.

Tool did a live cover, too, supposedly. But the clip I have is either incomplete, or the recording quality sucks. If they did do it, I would like a full version, or for them to redo it. Maynard is worthy enough. Aaron Lewis can go rot in hell.

...Just think of how bad it would sound if Staind did a cover of John Lennon's "Imagine". It would make me puke. And I will wonder if Aaron Lewis is trying to copy off of Maynard or Billy Howardel... >.>'
