I like both Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette.
Sarah McLachlan can shatter glass with a high-pitched note. My fave Sarah McLachlan songs are "Building a Mystery", "Adia", "Angel", and "I Will Remember You".
Although Alanis can't shatter glass, I still like her voice. My fave Alanis songs are "You Learn", "Thank U", "Unsent", "Hands Clean", "Everything", and "Nobody's Home".
Sarah and Alanis get played too much on the Muzak at many supermarkets and our local Hot A/C station Bitch 95.5 (http://www.b95.com/) (they're converting to a top 40 format on January 1, 2005, so maybe that'll change)

I like them both. Good voices, good music.

Sarah the High-Pitched Singer
(Sing to the tune of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer)
Sarah the High-Pitched Singer
Had a very high pitch voice
And if you ever heard it
You would even say it blows
All of the other singers
Used to laugh and call her names
They never let poor Sarah
Join in any singer games
Then one day in '93
Someone came to say
Sarah, with your voice so high
Won't you be a hit singer
Then how the people loved her
As they shouted out with glee
Sarah the High-Pitched Singer
Will reach the top 40!
This proves that Sarah McLachlan, although she had a rocky start, she got several #1 songs: "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" (1993), "Building a Mystery" (1994), "Sweet Surrender" (1995), "Adia" (1997), "Angel" (1999), "I Will Remember You" (2000), "Fallen" (2003), and "Eighth World Wonder" (2004).
