Title: I watched the electric soldier porygon episode...
Post by: Yerix on Apr 07 2007, 02:20 AM
...and lived. (well actually it was without suffering from an epileptic attack, but fuck)

Yes, here's your chance to watch the legendary pokemon episode that brung seizures upon hundreds of viewers in japan (but it's in 9 parts):
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...soldier+porygon (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=electric+soldier+porygon)
comes with subtitles (and a small appearence by ninetales).

this is why theres epileptic seizure warnings everywhere now.

all I got from the seizure-inducing parts was a small headache, but....I can't say the same thing for everyone...

this is pretty much why porygon nor it's evolutions don't appear in the show anymore. so pretty much every pokemon from bulbasaur to deoxys made it in the show and movies becides porygon2.

but porygon had nothing to do with the seizure parts, it was mostly the vaccine unit (and pikachu in another scene). they didn't have to make every porygon episode take place in cyberspace, waging battles against vaccine programs. it'd be easy enough to just let porygon appear in a battle or even some short cameo, same with porygon2 or porygonZ.

A friend of mine was looking for that for a long time just because she wanted to see what it did to her if she watched it xD

I am not sure about me personally, I am not one that likes to see how far I can damage my body or what I can and cannot handle in terms of physical (or otherwise) trauma, even if it is something as silly as watching seizure causing flashing lights :P

Honestly, a spinning disco ball works just as good and I do not know of one occurrence where one of those injured someone ;)

After it's converted to the less-than-stellar Youtube codec, a lot is lost. If you want the TRUE thing, you're going to need to track down a Japanese bootleg VHS.

And that sounds nearly infinitely impossible :p
