AM, FM, or Satellite radio?
« on: Jan 21 2005, 06:08 PM »
I never really got into satellite radio as much as AM or FM.

Here, we actually have a few AM stations that play music (860, 940, 950, 1060, 1180, 1460, 1540). In many places, all you get on AM is NPR, News/Talk, and sports. Not that I don't mind listening to NPR occasionally, but it's nice to have music on some AM stations.

FM radio is about average here, with several very good stations, like 92.3, 95.5 (also on 950 AM), 99.5, 100.3 (also on 1180 AM), 103.1, and 104.5.

I don't like satellite radio at all because of having to buy a whole new reciever, and then paying $7.99 a month for the service. Oh, and most decent AM/FM receivers are cheaper than satellite receivers!

I notice how singers like Sarah McLachlan and Lisa Loeb actually sound nearly the same on AM as they do on FM. But I don't think hip-hop sounds too good on AM...

FM, if anything. I mostly listen to CDs and MP3s, because most FM stations if not all of them, are filled with commercials. It's ridiculous, really.

Buy me a coffee!

dreams are as portals, flat visions of misty places, fragments bound below my surface.
but i can write dreams, they flow from me, inscribed yet now unbound. i touch them, and they are real....and they are real.

Really, the only AM music stations that are worth listening to here are WYJB (950) and WKBE (1180). 940, 1060, and 1540 are oldies stations, 860 is an adult alternative station, and 1460 is a Radio Disney station.
