Cake. If you were born in/before the 90's, you should know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about one of the greatest 90's bands ever to grace the otherwise dull period of time we call 1990-2000.  If you don't know them? Well, Youtube is a great resource. Except for the horrid audio compression. A few songs to check out: Frank Sinatra, Comfort Eagle, Going The Distance, Friend Is A Four Letter Word, Short Skirt/Long Jacket, Commanche, Mr. Mastodon Farm .. The list goes on. Discuss.

(Anyone that posts that completely idiodic Portal meme will be SHOT ON SIGHT.)

I don't care if I get shot on sight, but, Cake, is a lie. They are horrible. Their cover of War Pigs makes me want to hurl. Ugh.

dreams are as portals, flat visions of misty places, fragments bound below my surface.
but i can write dreams, they flow from me, inscribed yet now unbound. i touch them, and they are real....and they are real.

*HEADSHOT OMG.* I agree about the War Pigs thing. I didn't like it too much. I like their music, because it offers some philosophical insight into things, too; much like Sublime, They Might Be Giants, and plenty of other bands my sleepy mind can't recall at the moment.

Yeah, the band is okay. I mean, there are better bands out there. I think that they would be better if they were not a lie.

Returning from somewhere, to someplace safe
And for once as you watch the color of the sunset as it paints the walls
And you are not living in a memory; you are vital and alive, you are at peace; you are godlike
And you are safe, and that moment will last in a place in your mind
And there is no pain, and you forget what it feels like
And you can see, how it could be
