Title: Ashes Divide
Post by: Samui on Jan 08 2008, 08:18 PM
So, it seems Billy Howerdel has embarked on a new project called Ashes Divide. As I am posting this, I am listening to a sample of their song called "Enemies". It sounds pretty sweet, and I am looking forward to their first album coming out in March. If you miss A Perfect Circle, this band has the sound.

You can hear one song here (http://myspace.com/ashesdivide).

As for A Perfect Circle, it is still uncertain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Perfect_Circle#Possible_return).

Update: Their MySpace page has recently been updated with what will be their first single "The Stone".

Update (2/25): The release date for their debut album has been pushed back to April 8th.

I pre-ordered the album. This is gonna be sweet.

Oh, by the way:

...many of you ask about the future of APC. As of right now we have no concrete plans for APC stuff. Maynard and I have talked a bit lately about "what if..." but he is currently focused on Puscifer (his new project which came out a few months ago) and I am putting all my energy into ASHES dIVIDE for the foreseeable future....

I got it in the mail yesterday, and it is fucking sweet. I especially love "Sword". Devo (Maynard's son) is very skilled with that cello. It just sounds lovely. <3

Seriously, if you like A Perfect Circle, I urge you to buy this album. It kicks ass.

It came out yesterday in the US, and will come out in the UK on April 19. And apparently, there is an extra track on the iTunes version which may also be on the UK version. It's a remix of "Denial Waits" done by Danny Lohner. I want that mix so bad. Hopefully, it will be their next single, and be something we could actually buy in the US, because supposedly, we hear Devo's cello in it as well. :)

I'll look around on Limewire next month, if I find the song I'll give you a heads up.

Even though it wasn't Ashes Divide that sent this out, it does have to do with APC, so it is pretty much related. And it's good news, too. I have added emphasis to the relevant parts of this newsletter. The rest is mainly promotional information for Puscifer.

Hello, APC fans.

As many of you may have heard, Billy and I are engaged in our own little projects for the moment.

His is called Ashes Divide and mine is called Puscifer.

Puscifer is perfect for those of you who suffer from ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive Accessory Purchases, Vinyl fetishes, Turrets and/or An Irreverent Sense of Humor.  You will need to bring one, severeal, or all of these disorders if you seek to embrace/understand Puscifer.

We've included a number of websites for you to browse so you can determine if this is in fact your flavor.

If not, no harm done (you can remove yourself at the bottom of this e-mail).

We'll hopefully get along just fine without you, although we'd of course prefer to have you along to join us for the giggles.

Please be advised that A Perfect Circle and Tool are still alive and well.

This is simply MORE.

Because as you know, MORE IS BETTER.  ALWAYS.  God bless America.

Peace,

M J Keenan
