here's another actually half-decent mario bootleg, lulz talespin and jeopardy music
Mega Drive Longplay - Super Mario World 64 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-jhSjft_lM#)

seems the pirates had an obsession with the the lion king at one point, there's dozens of lion king bootlegs

The Lion King 2 (Sega Genesis / Mega Drive) Intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxTKcWZc-aU#ws)
The Lion King 3 (Unl) Speed Run (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPCDuXEEX5A#)

alongside these, there's actually a decent NES port of the SNES/genesis version of lion king going around, only missing a few levels

Well, The Lion King was a pretty good movie, so I guess I could understand their obsession.

Now, here are some halfway decent NES/Famicom ports of Donkey Kong Country/Super Donkey Kong 1 and 2:

Donkey Kong Country 4 (NES Pirate) Gameplay Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siSdSJCDfIQ#)

Super Donkey Kong 2 (NES Homebrew/Pirate) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yft2Xl0ZhqM#)

Do you want to know what the sad thing is? Both of these are far more playable than that garbage Game Boy Color port (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeL4czkQwuo). It's quite a shame, really. It had so much potential with all the new content that was added to it, but then all that flew out the window completely, thanks to the crappy, watered-down Donkey Kong Land engine that they used.

a taiwanese company unlocked the full potential of the NES graphics hardware with a small modification, shame there's like only 5 games out now that use this enhancement

Quote
The OneBus hardware is essentially a modified Famicom, designed by the Taiwanese company VRTech. Its standard OneBus famiclone system is called the VT02. Unlike the Famicom which has seperate banks for the programming and graphics, (named the PRG and CHR banks) the OneBus combines the two, meaning that only one bus is required, hence the name. The VT03 has better graphical capabilities than standard Famicom hardware, allowing for up to 16 colours per graphical tile as opposed to 4. (In both cases, one colour is transparent)
imagine how much nicer official NES games would've been if nintendo realized this was possible back when they were developing the console

despite a few inaccuracies, this SNES aladdin deport is suprisingly faithful to the original

It sounds as if one of those sound effects was borrowed from Somari, or perhaps it was the other way around?

who remembers that donkey kong game where he has to save his fairy waifu from a vampire, goes through recreations of the first 6 worlds of SMB, weakened into diddy, spins like taz when running, and had pokemon pinball music for some strange reason

This thread wouldn't be complete without Somari the Adventurer.

this one is quite impressive for an unlicensed game
hell if it weren't for the loads of plagiarized mario and sonic gfx and the konami sound engine (alongside tiny toon adventures sfx), it'd probably have a place among the better games in the NES library

same developers did toto world 3 for the master system whom is just as guilty in regards to stolen assets
and godzilla is a boss
