Vulpine Side Shrine 15/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #23 of Inariyama.

Regrettably, the small Torii cover some of the names of this Ookami, but I think I can jusz barely make out the Kanji for Shima (島 "Island").

Vulpine Side Shrine 16/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #24 of Inariyama.

The Kanji on this one are more difficult to make out, and once again I am saved by the more legible small red Torii.

Speaking of Torii... the big Torii of this Shrine is of a peculiar design I have not seen anywhere before.

A pair of shy foxes hide behind the small red Torii of this moss-covered old Shrine.

Vulpine Side Shrine 22/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #30 of Inariyama.

Two foxes watch over a dragon and bear Shrine here.

By now, I've realized that my camera might not last through all of this endless vulpinity, so I have taken to taking only the most necessary pictures of the Shrines I pass, wanting to capture as many of them as possible before the battery fails.

Vulpine Side Shrine 23/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #31 of Inariyama.

This Shrine has an unusual second name. Interestingly, on the smaller red Torii, "大神" is written instead of "彦命" for the second name, suggesting that Genmei might once have been more or less synonymous with Ookami. This is the first time I'm seeing it, however.

Vulpine Side Shrine 25/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #33 of Inariyama.

The first Shrine of the eastern segment of Kuhouboutaki, which even among Komugen has the highest concentration of fox Shrines I've seen so far. It can actually be quite tricky to guess which Torii belongs to which Shrine.

Interestingly, the foxes watching over this particular mossy Ookami hold a 10-Yen coin each in their fangs.

There are so many fox Shriens here that you can't even directly get to them anymore. This one is in the second row, right behind Seikou Ookami.

Vulpine Side Shrine 27/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #35 of Inariyama.

With so many Ookami on such a small area, it gets kinda difficult to tell which Ookami belongs to which Shrine, and the stones are often hard to decipher, so I decide to focus on the Kanji on the little red Torii from here on out.

The foxes meanwhile watch over all the gods indiscriminately.

Vulpine Side Shrine 28/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #36 of Inariyama.

By now, the foxes all around me are clearly getting the better of me, and I am quickly slipping into the greatest fox-gasm I would ever experience.

Also, this might just be the Shrine venerating the most Kami in the smallest space ever. I count 14 names in total, but I can only decipher three of them.

Vulpine Side Shrine 29/56 of Kuhouboutaki, and Vulpine Shrine #37 of Inariyama.

As I continue to be overwhelmed by all the vulpinity around me, everything becomes a buzz, and I start making silly mistakes such as cutting off the first Kanji of one of the fox Shrines.

I don't care though. I'm in a happy, blissfull daze by this time, foxes having taken full control.
