Another Side Shrine of Uramori Inari Jinja, and since we already had foxes on the other side, why not go with snakes here?

Snake Shrines are not as common as Fox Shrines, but they have in common that their guardians are always pure white. Most Snake  Shrines are underground or in caves too, and the ones that are not - such as this one - are at the very least designed with a cave theme in mind.

And finally, the last new Inari Shrine I should visit on my stray on 26-Apr-2018.

This one is located almost directly in the middle of #132 Uramori Inari Jinja and #48 Anamori Inari Jinja, where my stray should end. I guess the people of Ota-Ku have something about foxes being their protectors, seeing as they now effectively guard a cave, a bay, and a village.

The first of two Inari Shrine I should find on 29-Aug-2018. I came across this one completely by chance while straying through the city with Tatsuro the Dragon, thus further proving the point that I apparently can't go anywhere without running into an Inari Shrine here. =^,^=

This one is a Side Shrine of Sakuragi Shrine (桜木神社 "Cherry Tree Shrine"), and as fate would have it, its standing right behind one of the eponymous cherry trees. Maybe not the best spot for a Shrine, but definitely something new. =^,^=

The other of the two Inari Shrine I should find on 29-Aug-2018. I found this on my way back to Akihabara from the Tokyo Dome.

This one is a Side Shrine of Tsumakoi Jinja (妻恋神社  "Yearned-For Wife Shrine"), which is hidden in a back road just a short distance from the more famous Kanda Myoujin (), so if you are going after Inari Shrines #64-66, you might as well check out this one as well.

One of the last three Inari Shrines I should find in April. It turned out to be a Shrine-rich month.

This one is located in a back road right next to Shitaya Jinja (下谷神社 "Lower Valley Shrine") near Inaricho-Eki (稲荷町駅 "Inari Town Station"), which means I must unknowingly have walked within less than 10 metres of it while visiting #84 Ryueiinari Jinja (隆栄稲荷神社 "Noble Splendor Inari Shrine") eleven days ago.

I should find this Shrine on the way back from Kemoket, a Japanese Furry Sales event of sorts.

Although the event was sort of not what I had hoped for, this little Shrine I found completely by chance on my way back partly makes up for it. Two foxes sit outside in cages, and another four are hiding within to either side of the altar.

After a long, Shrine-rich month, this should finally be the last Inari Shrine I would find in April.

This one is actually quite close to my home in Taito. I must have walked past it so many times without knowing it was there. I only found it when, on returning from the Kemoket, I spontaneously decided to walk one little back street that I had not walked before. And let me tell you: There really is no other way to find that specific Shrine than to walk just the right road. You can't see it from either side of the alley, and no flags announce its presence. In fact, I only realized it was there once I walked right past it.

The first vulpine Shrine I should find in May.

I came across this one totally by chance while moving from my old place in Taitou-Ku to a hostel in Sumida-Ku. Carrying two heavy backpacks, I must have been quite a sight praying at that Shrine.

A tiny little Shrine - not even bearing a name - close to the hostel I stayed in in Sumida-Ku, and the first Inari Shrine I should find in that particular part of Tokyo.

This one seems to be a private Shrine that is behind a fence, which means I can't even put an offering in the offertory box. Oh well. Their loss.

The last fox Shrine I should find on 4-May-2018, located in a little back road next to my hostel. Finding one's way there can be a bit tricky.

A fox pair with a kit stand watch outside, and another two foxies reside within.

Finally, after 3 months in Tokyo, this should be the last Inari Shrine I should find in the Radiant Metropolis before moving on.

I find it together with Robert, my best friend, who has come to join me in Japan for a 3-weeks tour up to Hokkaido. Naturally, we should find many more fox Shrines in various places along the way.

This one, for now, is located in a quiet residential district of Tokyo, totally different from the bustling parts of the city I've been in so far.

It's also quite close to Tokyo's one and only tram line (the white dots on the map) if you want to try  it out.

The northeasternmost Inari Shrine I should visit in Nikko.

This one is a Side Shrine of Takinoo Jinja, which - as its name suggests - is located at the lower end of a nice little waterfall. There is also the Sake no Izumi (酒の泉 "Spring of Sake") nearby, the waters of which are said to taste like Sake.

A tiny little Fox Shrine I should randomly find by the side of the road while straying into Yasukawachou (安川町 "Peaceful River Town").

Two foxes stand watch outside, and another four tiny ones are hiding within.

If you are around here, you might also want to check out he Kanamangafuchi (憾満ヶ淵 "Full of Regrets Abyss"), an impressive ravine that is only a 15 minutes walk away.
