A Small Shrine hidden in a side street. You'd think its bright red colour would make it an easy find, but it's quite concealed by the surrounding high houses, so you likely won't see it until you're right next to it.

Two foxes bearing scroll and orb flank the Torii, and another two reside within the perpendicular Shrine.

A Side Shrine of Samezu Hachiman Jinja (鮫洲八幡神社 Shark Sandbar Hachiman Shrine), conveniently located right next to Samezu Station of the Keikyu Line.

A pair of metal fox cutouts decorate the crossbar above the altar. That'S not something I have seen before. Also unusually, a pair of rabbits appear to be hiding on the roof.

A little Shrine crammed into a few square meters of open space between three houses.

A number of foxes are hiding within. I think it might be eight. Most notably, there is a pair of dark foxes inside the likes of which I have not seen before.

Maybe this Shrine was once located between the towns of Shinagawa and Ota. Right now, hover, it is right in the middle of the city, atop a small rise next to Kita-Hamakawa Jidouyuuen (北浜川児童遊園 North Beach Stream Children's Park), which might be notable for its statue of Sakamoto Ryōma, a notable figure of Japanese history who played an important role in overthrowing the Tokugawa Shogunate and thus facilitating the Meiji Restoration, and was assassinated at the age of 31 at an inn by the name of Ōmiya (近江屋 "Near Bay House") in Kyoto.

But back to the foxes: There's a rather grim pair with a kit standing watch outside the shrine. I certainly would not want to incur their anger.

Not quite the southernmost Inari Shrine of Tokyo or even Shinagawa, but definitely within the southernmost 10%.

This one is a Side Shrine of Tenso Suwa Jinja (天祖諏訪神社 "Sun Goddess Consultation Visit Shrine").

This is the actual southernmost Inari Shrine of Shinagawa-Ku, or at the very least, the southernmost that I know of. It should also mark the end of the pilgrimage route, where there was a Shrine or temple every few hundred meters. From here on  out, I should actually get some walking done between each Shrine.

In addition to a pair of stone foxes outside, four wooden foxes have taken shelter from the rain within the little Shrine itself.

The northernmost Inari Shrine I should find in Ota-Ku, and a Side Shrine of Iwai Jinja (磐井神社 "Rock Well Shrine").

Two adult foxes and a kit watch over this shrine from cages outside, and another six reside within, making for a grand total of nine.

Another Side Shrine of Iwai Jinja (磐井神社 "Rock Well Shrine"). This one is located on a tiny island in a pond south of the main Shrine.

This one is actually not an Inari Shrine but rather a Shrine dedicated to Benzaiten, goddess of Water, Music, Knowledge and everything that flows. This deity is venerated in both Shintoism and Buddhism, and has close ties to Inari. Maybe that's why this shrine is adorned with a carving of a fox family above the main altar.

A Side Shrine of Oomori Jinja (大森神社  "Big Forest Shrine"), located right next to a little Hachiman Side Shrine. It's common to see both Inari and Hachiman Side Shrines paired like this.

Tiny though it might be, three little foxies are still residing within.

A Shrine in a Side Street of Ota-Ku. The Torii actually stands at the entrance  of the street, but cars are still permitted to enter. The actual Shrine does not start until a bit later.

I think there might have been another Shrine in the vicinity of this one, but it looks like I missed it.

A Side Shrine of Kifune Jinja (貴舩神社 "Precious Ship Shrine") with a cage fox pair and a kit outside, and two little foxes within.

Even though it's not an Inari Shrine by name (denoted by the plaque above the altar), the many flags outside reading "Kifune Inari Oomyoujin" (貴舩稲荷大明神 "Precious Ship Inari Great Gracious Deity") clearly denote this as an Inari Shrine.

Similar in name to the nearby [N°48] Anamori Inari Jinja (穴守稲荷神社 "Cave Guard Inari Shrine"), which is actually only less than 2km away at this point. I'm slowly getting close to the goal of my long stray.

This one is notable for it fox cutouts in the Shrine blinds. One of the foxes seems to be carrying a bushel of grain, while the other is holding maybe a hatchet or a pipe in its fang.

A Side Shrine of Uramori Inari Jinja, cuz why not add more foxes to your foxes? I like it! =^,^=

This one features a total of eight foxes, and at least three dozen Torii leading towards it. Incidentally,  these Torii-tunnels only seem to occure at Inari Shrines, so if you see one  of them, there's a good chance there will be foxes on the other side (about 15% of Inari Shrines don't have foxes though).
