The ninth of the twelve vulpine Side Shrines of Sawazoushi Inari, located within the Fox Glade.

By this point, I'm starting to get a foxiness overload due to the high concentration of Fox Shrines in this area.

The tenth of the twelve vulpine Side Shrines of Sawazoushi Inari, located within the Fox Glade.

Two weathered foxes keep their eternal watch over this Shrine, their faces long since eroded away  by wind and weather. The other foxies standing closer to the Shrine are better preserved, and there's even a little one hiding between the leaves nearby.

The eleventh of the twelve vulpine Side Shrines of Sawazoushi Inari, located within the Fox Glade.

With two foxes outside and another eight near the roofed Shrine, I'd say this one is quite well protected.

The last of the twelve vulpine Side Shrines of Sawazoushi Inari, located within the Fox Glade.

This one stands at the end of the path, at the far corner of the Fox Glade. Three and three foxes stand guard outside, and another two rest within.

Finally, the last Inari Shrine I should find on 19-Apr-2018. This day has seen so many of them, I feel positively foxified, foxes filling my vision when I close my eyes.

This one is a Side Shrine of Koishikawa Suwa Jinja ("Small Stone River Consulting Offer Shrine" 小石川諏訪神社), and located not far to the west of the Tokyo Dome. Two slender foxes stand watch outside, and  there's a whole skulk of foxes residing within.

This one is a side shrine of Asakusa Jinja (浅草神社 "Shallow Grass Shrine"), located in the district of the same name.

Asakusa Jinja in turn is next to the rather famous Sensou-Ji (浅草寺 "Shallow Grass Temple"), so if you're in the area, make sure to check behind Asakusa Jinja too.

I actually found this one more or less by chance while walking to a nearby furmeet in a bar called Hatch one evening.

The first Inari Shrine with foxes that I should find on my epic stray from Mita to Kawasaki on 26-Apr-2018.

This one is located right across from the Shinagawa Station. In a rare turn of events, only a single fox is to be found here, watching over a side altar containing a Jizo.

This Shrine is a little bit hidden, at the end of a side road within a back road. A total of ten foxes reside here.

As I should soon find out, the people of Shinagawa-Ku (品川区 "Goods River District") appear to adore foxes just as much as the people of Ota-Ku.

A Side Shrine of a Shrine that that connects two streets. Kinda. I might just have come in from the wrong side.

The Shrine density in this part of Tokyo is quite high, and this should only be the beginning.

This one is actually part of a trio of tiny Shrines, the other two being a Hachiman Shrine and a Kumano (熊野 "Bear Field") Shrine respectively.

This Shrine is closed off for some reason, so I can only get as far as the gate. Fortunately you can see everything clearly from there.

Two beautiful foxes flank the Shrine, one with a cute kit. Another fox off to the sides has definitely seen better times however.

A little Side Shrine of a Buddhist Temple that is one of seven Temples along a pilgrimage route known as Toukai Nananfukujin (東海七福神 “East Coast Seven Gods of Fortune”). I walked onto this route by pure chance, and should eventually visit six of the seven Temples during my stray. Some of them - like this one - sport a little Inari Side Shrine or two.

I like to call this one Kaeri Inari Jinja (顧稲荷神社 "Turn Around Inari Shrine"), although that's not its official name, because it is located at such a place in an alcove next to the Temple's entrance gate that it can only been seen after one has been to the Temple and turned around to leave.

A Side Shrine of one of the Toukai Nananfukujin. Note how the characters "品川" are read "Honsen" in this case, although the same characters are also used to spell "Shinagawa". Japanese truly is a tricky language.

At first I don't see any foxes here, but then I espy a pair of bounding foxies partially hidden by the offerings within, only their distinctive tails and hindquarters visible.
