A little ramshackle shrine at a street corner in Ota. This is definitely the most rickety Shrine I've seen so far.

At first I don't see any foxes around here, but a glance inside reveals that two little foxies have taken shelter in this Shrine after all.

Another Inari Shrine in Ota-Ku, the southernmost ward of Tokyo. It's actually not far from the bay of Tokyo, which might explain the reference to seagulls in the Shrine's name.

I'd be worried about the foxes eating the seagulls, but these two seem to be content just sitting there guarding the shrine.

Yet another little Inari Shrine in Ōta-ku. Did I mention that there are really really many of them in this part of the Radiant Metropolis?

This one is guarded by two rather crude foxes. The little fox kit beneath the vixen is cute though.

When I ran into this Shrine, I though I had found my Inari Shrine for the day.

Little did I know this was only the beginning of something much, much bigger.

Either way, this aptly named fox den should hold the record for the Shrine with the most foxes for at least...  oh... 15 minutes or so.

Since this shrine had more foxes than would fit on pictures, I've taken a video of it. Here it is:

The big-ol grand-daddy of Inari Shrines in Tokyo, and with it the first Golden Fox Shrine I should find on my journey.

Not only is the Shrine itself big and foxy, but it also has a total of seven Side Shrines with even more foxes. On top of it, it sells fox charms and even fox guardian statues. I got myself one of the charms for my journey here.

The fourth of the seven Inari Side Shrines of Anamori Inari Jinja.

You need to go through aforementioned tunnel of Torii to get there. From what I gather, those are old Torii, since the dates written on their backs predate one another in a chronologically orderly fashion.

The inner sanctuary turns out to be the cave that these foxes are guarding over, and my are it many! It's so many that I can neither count nor properly estimate them. As such, this one should become the new record holder for the shrine with the most foxes so far, and likely hold that title for quite some time, if not forever.

One of the three shrines to the left of the tunnel of Torii, this one finally has a countable number of foxes again, but it's still quite a lot.

The last of the seven Inari Side Shrines of Anamori Inari Jinja.

By now my brain has been officially overwritten with foxes, and all I see is little foxes when I close my eyes. And yet, the day should not quite be over just yet.

Before I leave the Anamori Inari Shrine, I also buy a cute little Omamori fox charm made of silk worm cocoons.

A private Inari Shrine on a property right next to Anamori Inari Shrine.

Naturally, I couldn't get any closer, but I think it's nice that people do such things here.

Maybe after returning home I should build my own Inari Shrine in my garden?

The last Inari Shrine I should find on 1-Apr-2018. This one is right next to the giant logistics centre of the Kuroneko Delivery Service.

It's also quite close to Haneda Airport to the east, which is located pretty much in the middle of the city. If you ever go to Japan, I suggest trying to get a flight to Haneda Airport since the landing there is just that much more spectacular than in Narita.

The first Inari Shrine I should find on 3-Apr-2018, after moving to my new home in Taitou.

This one is actually the closest Inari Shrine to my new home, and the very reason why I chose this Share House over all others. It's not even 200m away.

Cramped between two houses, this little Shrine stands beneath a Sakura Tree.

One of those days, they even held a tiny little Sakura Matsuri that I by chance managed to attend.

I've taken a video of it. Here it is:
