After a break of almost a week, I finally found some time to stray, and with it this shrine in the heart of the Shiba district.

This one was actually just undergoing renovations, so the pair of slender foxes already had quite some company. It's good to see the Shrines being actively maintained like this

Once again I was quite busy with my studies, so it has been over a week since I visited a shrine with foxes. I found this shrine during a stray which I allowed myself to take after a Kanji Test. I passed the test, but just barely. Now I am officially recognized to know about 120 Kanji, which is about 2nd grade elementary school level.

Anyway, this little Shrine in the back roads of Chiyoda had quite an impressive number of offerings such as sake, Inari-Sushi, Aburaage, and milk. Looks  like the foxes are not going to go hungry or thirsty tonight.

This cute little Inari Shrine sitting by the side of a major roadway is as of yet unnamed. Maybe it was just recently established?

Normally, a shrine has its name written on a plaque on the short central vertical beam on the Torii, but this shrine is missing even that. Nonetheless, there are still two foxes standing guard, and guessing from their bibs and the offerings of sake at the shrine, it's safe to assume that even this unnamed shrine receives patronage.

Another unnamed Inari Shrine, found during the same stray as the last one, but this time, in the northern outskirts of Shinjuku.

This one is actually a side shrine located on the premises of Ryumonji (竜門寺 "Dragon Gate Temple"), a Buddhist Temple. I was actually looking for #32 Inari Yashiro, but that one should turn out to be even smaller and better hidden, so it would not be until 27-Mar-2018 that I'd eventually find that one.

The last Inari Shrine I should find on this day, and a side Shrine of the much larger Akagi Temple worshipping Hachiman.

Many bigger Shrines actually have one or more smaller Inari side Shrines somewhere on their grounds. This would not be the last one I should find.

The first Inari Shrine I should find on my stray on 18-Mar-2018. This one should take me some time to find. But then again, who would expect there to be an Inari Shrine on the roof of a shopping centre?

Well considering that Inari is the goddess of prosperity, I guess it sort of makes sense. Nonetheless, this should be one of the  more peculiar Inari Shrines I would find on my journey. By the way, Odaiba is the name of one of the more recent artificial island districts in the bay of Tokyo. It is named that way (Daiba meaning "Fort") after what used to be an isolated island fort. You can still see its square structure on the map. Meanwhile, "Aqua City" is the name of said shopping centre.

This little shrine is located at the end of a driveway. I almost feel like I'm trespassing here, even though it is still public ground.

Some of the foxes here have obviously seen quite a number of years and are showing clear signs of fatigue. Nonetheless they continue to stand watch over this shrine. Their dedication is admirable.

One of two little Inari side Shrines at the larger Mita Kasuga Jinja (三田春日神社 "Three Fields Spring Day Shrine"), which sits atop an impressive flight of stairs.

At first glance I count four foxes here, but then I happen to find a fifth crouching in the greenery nearby.

A nondescript little shrine I came across in a back road of the Minato ward.

At first, I didn't see any foxes, but then I peered inside through the little windows and found a pair of them shyly hiding away inside.

This little Shrine with a big name is well hidden beneath an office building, and I had to take a full circuit around the block to locate it. On second thought, the red flags should have been a dead giveaway.

Once again, two while little porcelain foxes watch over this Shrine. I realize that I've seen these exact same foxes in a number of different Shrines by now. Makes me wonder if they are sold somewhere.

The first Inari Shrine I should visit during my stray from Minato to Shinjuku via Shibuya on 22-Mar-2018. It is actually a side shrine of Tenso Jinja Ryuu Tsuchigami Akemiya (天祖神社 龍土神明宮 "Ancestral Sun Goddess Shrine Dragon Earth God Radiant Shrine").

This one is characterized by a large Buddha attended by two trusty vulpine servants. Once again, they are encased in a protective mesh, that unfortunately makes it hard to see that there's actually a little fox kit hiding beneath the legs of the right fox.

A little side Shrine dedicated to Inari near shrine next to Cat Street. Its name remains a mystery.

I now realize that I could have taken a picture of the little plaque on the Torii, since that is where the shrine's name is written. However, I didn't think of that at that time, and unfortunately none of the pictures I did take have the plaque in a good angle or resolution. Oh well...

Despite its name, this Shrine is not located in the Chiyoda ward, but rather in a red-light district of Shibuya. On my way hear I pass by a good dozen of love hotels, as well as some rather suggestively themed shops.

The shrine itself is actually quite nice - never mind the bawdy neighborhood - and home to a little fox-family of three.
