Meh, I'm bored, and I didn't see any other topic like this around here, so I went ahead and made this one. Here's what my destop looks like:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v333/Kra...ics/Desktop.jpg

It's somewhat plain, since I've lost most of the files I previously had on my other computer before getting it switched.

Vultopia (main compy), Pyromon (CD Player), Cyankon (laptop)

I will upload dkRadio and Spectra in due time - pretty much when I get a good wallpaper for dkRadio and a network connection for Spectra. ^^;

Well, my boring old desktop. If anyone knows of a good skinng program, I'd love that. I've got XP, by the way. The guy who worked in my computer kind of took away the XP skin for some reason.

XP's theme interface takes up a good 10MB more of RAM, which can make a big difference depending on how much you have to work with.

Anyway... I run three kinds of computers: WinXP (Runefox; Main), Win2k (Grandparents' comp), and Debian (Tamamo; Webserver).

My desktops are usually slightly more eleagant than that (you should have seen my Ubuntu desktop before I lost it), but after many reformats and rearranging, I've yet to have done so. Oh, and, uh, my server has no GUI. Also, my main desktop is ... Cluttered... With some of my roommate's crap (which should be in the "steve" folder you see, most notably Poker Stars).

One of these days, I'm gonna put Linux back on it, probably when the next release of Ubuntu is out. Gentoo was a failred attempt, but Ubuntu was a breeze to use, so was Mandriva. But I like Ubuntu much more. Hopefully someday Wine will emulate the Windows API's more thoroughly - At least, enough for me to do what I need to do with Windows.

By the way, 1280x1024 is not a square 4:3 resolution, and you can probably get a better refresh rate ouf of its square equivalent, 1280x960. My monitor, for example, can get 70Hz out of 1280x960, versys 60Hz at 1280x1024. Assuming you're using a CRT, anyway. If not, it's still better to use 1280x960. :P

Wow... how did you do that cube? Is it possible to do that in windows too with a program or something? And it looks very nice.

Not sure if it is possible to do in Windows. There's a program for Linux called Beryl, it does all these neat 3D desktop effects, eyecandy and stuff. Puts Vista to shame. You know how Vista requires all these high-end things to even run? Beryl runs just fine on my laptop - and it has a crappy ATI chipset. It just requires a video card that supports...compositing, I think, or direct rendering. Preferably nVidia, since it has better support under Linux.

I've seen a dual pentium 3 ( with a GeForce4 in it ) running Beryl. And it works great. :D

Ichigo, nice.  *thumbs up* This one's from what my family refers to as "The piece of crap."  It can access the internet and play Doom and Quake.  Yay extremely outdated technology!

Wow.. I see you still use Windows 98 or NT on your system, Light. Wasn't even sure if there are still programs that work on it these days, it is indeed very very old.

Anyway... was wondering who here has any furry desktops? :)
