Title: Hahaha GUESS WHAT!
Post by: Chaos Hedgie on Jul 13 2006, 05:06 PM
Today, I passed my Segment 1 Drivers Education class. I passed the state test with a 94, and passed all my range exercises, and all my road driving. (There was a bit of a backstory with the state test, I'll explain later) Look out any fellow Michiganians, I'm getting my permit!

First of all, don't be ashamed if you are 16 and just getting your permit. I am 16 and I just got my certificate (going to get the permit hopefully Monday) reason was that last year, some of you guys know that I flunked the 9th grade. The reason isn't because I was dumb, but I was trying to hard to get a girlfriend and to be impressive and shit, that I didn't do my work (I am lazy) (Oh, and no, I never did get a girl, lol) So this year, I passed, and I'm in Summer School now because I want to catch up with my class of 2008. This time though, I already passed, and I didn't have to go to Summer School, but I want to catch up.

So anyway, I flunked and my mother was being such the bitch that she is that she didn't pay for drivers training when I was 15. Now she did this year, and I'm getting my permit.

Ok, now for the backstory of the state test.. The state of Michigan decided to try out some new driver licencing tests and they used our classes as "guniea pigs." The tests were very hard, because only 20% of the test actually came from our book. Our whole class failed. Hell, most of the other classes actually failed. Now the funny thing was, I had the highest score of the class, yet I still failed. (73%)

So, a day after they gave us the old easier tests, and I passed with a 94% (Didn't get highest this time)

So yeah, bit of drama there.

EDIT: Samui, you flunked the road driving twice? It was easy for me ( I did have to do it three times though, first two I was a bit nervous and uneven, third time was smooth as I got used to it) Note that our road driving procedure goes as follows: You are required here to road drive twice, or you can take an optional third test if you want. I passed both twice, but took the third as I was nervous, and wanted to do it again. I was so calm the third time, that everything went smooth, except for a slight jerk when merging on the expressway.

It was Connecticut. You're required to take the law test, then the driven test. If you pass the written the first time, and fail the driving the first time, you have to wait...30 days, I think...but you don't have to take the law test a second time. Now, I had to do it through AAA, because if I do it through the DMV, I'd have to furnish my own car, which I don't have. So I had to wait longer than 30 days. The second time, I failed. Same old shit, just more...anal. I found that I only had to wait two weeks, but the next available date AAA had was six weeks, and it was way too close to my move-out date. I couldn't afford it anyways.

My main problem was, I never had any opportunity to practice. My mother never let me use her car to train me to drive. Work got in the way of whatever chances I had to practice with the one person who would let me practice. I only got two sessions of practice in, which I was lucky to get, but two wasn't enough. If I did it through AAA, I'd have to pay $50 an hour...with money that I did NOT have.

Well, fuck Connecticut now. I'm in California, and I intend on taking driver's ed once I am able to afford it.

Edit: Suffice it to say, I was mostly at fault. I waited too long to take it. I should have just taken it back in early 2005. I might have had more of a chance to pass, but I still wouldn't have had the practice that I needed other than the lessons that were included in the program.

Marta for life fer me, gas is way to high. Bus or Foot. Also when I was five I "accidently" hotwired my brothers car  and hit a few cars. You don't want a person going 160 mph on  sidewalk...

Oh, you didn't have any experence beforehand. Excuse me for saying this man, but your mother is a bitch. She should have taken you to a empty lot and shown you the basics. Hell, my older sister took me out to the country and made me drive all the way from there to home. My dad took me into my church parking lot and shown me things also. But damn, your mother wasn't trying to help you at all? That's fucked up man.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, hey guys, I got my permit today instead of monday, so look out fuckers!
