i've had bad luck with them, to be honest. also, the nintendo ds does not support ad-hoc networks. you'll probably want to go for the official WFC adapter.

might as well be the only reasonable option, i'll look into getting one off ebay or something

as a side note, i'd have to wonder how badly gimped the north american release of black/white will be as far as online features are concerned. we got fucked in gen4.

i think nintendo has been better this generation handling event pokemon outside japan than in the past. there dosen't seem to be any sign of them denying us of B/W's victini event and pokemon global link.

as long as they actually make event pokemon available over wifi, and not exclusively to toys r' us/gamestop/whatever. also it doesn't seem their mystery gifts are regiftable.

i know how you feel, none of those locations exist within 30 miles from where i live, i have pokesav and an ARDS to spare me of the bullshit

i damn well deserve those events, its just that i don't want to have someone drive me over a mountain pass in order to get to those locations

so i ordered one, should arrive sometime within the same time window my pre-ordered black version is set to arrive

if i'm lucky, victini can end up being the first event pokemon I legitimately obtain (the first being a manaphy from ranger)

I once got a wifi usb adapter but it doesn't support: Windows XP x64, Vista (any version), Win7 (any version).
Its kinda annoying setting up wifi for the DS because the original DS has limited wifi options while the DSi allows more wifi options which work with modern day security systems.

WEP is old, now days people use WPA-?? (? = wildcard for what ever version is new now).
There are also other types but I'm not sure what they're all called, I personally find wired connects easier to set up and maintain.

wished the DS had some method of using a wired connection myself, like a LAN adapter to insert in slot-2 or something.
the wii has simular devices that allow a wired connection which plug into its USB ports.

It's not on the DS but on my wii. ad hoc don't work on it but Internet sharing on OS X work perfectly
