Title: Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
Post by: Shaun on Oct 27 2005, 08:16 PM
Yet another new Tony Hawk game. In this new addition to the game you are able to choose to BMX and skate! You also get to free roam in "No loading Zones".

When you're on the BMX you can do a number of tricks. You can do flares (a 180 spin then a backflip), tailwhips, bar spins, crank ups, X-Ups, spin any way you want. You can't do much of the story on the bike, but fun it's fool around on. In fact, so far I haven't needed the bike for story at all yet.

When in story mode for T.H.A.W., you can free roam and go to any area in the game without loading. There really is no loading, but to get to another area you must go through a "tunnel" like area while the game loads. Still better than looking at a line progress acros the screen.

The entire plot for the game is kind of like Tony Hawk's Underground one and two mixed together. You start out choosing the guy you want to start off with , which you will later on improve. Your selected character is then put on a bus to the city of Los Angeles. You then meet up with tour guide to the game, Mindy. You then select the hair and clothes you want. After that you poke around and explore the first area, Hollywood. You progress and learn new tricks while the story goes on aswell (You start out not being able to manuel, revert, or even spine transfer.). After you've got most of the tricks and skils you need you get on with the whole plot of the game. Building a massive skate park.

The new game also includes: Classic Mode, Create-a-mode (Create a skater, park, graphic, trick), High Score / Free Skate.

Another cool thing in the game is a wee bit of free running in it. You can huck the board and go free handed. You can do front flips, backflips, run up walls, shimmy along walls.
