I think Nintendo has TRULY outdone themselves this time. I don't know about anyone else, but I am BEYOND excited for this game. I really am. The first one completely blew me away, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much, that I've beaten the game twenty times (including Luigi playthroughs; yes, I counted). Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks just as impressive, if not more. So far, I'm already sold on buying this game. All I need to know now, is whether or not the Koopalings are going to appear in this game like they did in New Super Mario Brothers Wii. I think it's about time they've finally showed up in a 3D Mario platformer like this one.

Yeah. It looks like Yoshi's gameplay in this game is going to be a lot better than it was in Super Mario Sunshine.

seems the game has gone gold if there are copies out already (as the stores probably are hiding them in storage until release date), and we're 29 days away from elease date as of this post

Exactly three weeks from today, and the game will finally be on store shelves. I don't know about anyone else, but if I was an employee at one of those stores, I sneak into the storage room and steal myself a copy.

Also, some information from the Nintendo Official U.K. Magazine:
-Galaxy 2 takes place in an alternate reality where Mario and the Lumas never met .
- the big Luma owns Spaceship Mario, which was transformed into its shape from a simple planet .
- the big Luma is known as 'Lubba' .
- Lubba needs power starts to fuel the ship, which Bowser has stolen...alongside Peach.
- What does Lubba say when he transforms the planet into Spaceship Mario? "Nice spaceship, huh? More like a FACEship!"
- 40+ galaxies .
- the tree slide that appears in some trailers is a star available in TreeTrunk Galaxy .
- Expect more Yoshi action than was had in New Super Mario Bros. Wii .
- Spring Mario only makes 2 appearances .
- Luigi becomes playable in some fashion once you reach 20 stars .
- Another playable character is hinted at for when you reach 120.
- A monkey known as "The Chimp" let's you play minigames .
- good amount of 2d portions .
- expect many throwbacks to classic Mario games once you hit the later stages .
- Bowser stages are similar to those in Super Mario 64.
You know, about the bullet that I just bolded...there's been a rumor going around, that Sonic is going to be a playable character in this game. I thought it was pretty farfetched at first, but now I'm beginning to wonder if this confirms that the rumor was true.

About that "third playable character" in my above post? Disregard that. Recently, it's been confirmed by one of the IGN editors (http://twitter.com/craigign) that there IS no third character. Somehow, that doesn't surprise me in even the slightest. Even though that information came from an official magazine, I still was a bit skeptical about it, since Cammie Dunaway(sp?), or some other Nintendo representative, lied about there being a new final boss in the New Play Control! version of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, but enough about that.
