Sonic Team has announced their latest game, Shadow the hedgehog. Scheduled for release in late fall, the game gives you control of Shadow. I myself will hate it when ANYBODY goes "This Ruins Sonic". For one, Sonic isn't in it, for 2, its called SHADOW the hedgehog, and there is no evidence of ANY Sonic characters besides Shadow himself in it. I mean, the game could use alot of work graphically, but besides that it looks like they copied off Ratchet and Clank with more realistic guns. Theres a few shots where the gun is textured good, and not like crap. Besides a few graphic flaws (Shadow look WAY out of place), it looks like it will be an entertaining game.

Post by: Voncloud on Mar 12 2005, 11:51 AM: what im trying to thnk of is the plot and why would shadow be going around blowing stuff up now it could be the fact hes finding his memorey (from sonic heros) or hes trying to find the things Professor gerald created and destroy them (what he said on SA2) might be something else i dont know but it will probably keep a platforming style to it

Post by: Mystical Ninja on Mar 14 2005, 09:05 PM: This game is meant to take place during Shadow's past. All the stuff he daydreamed about in Sonic Adventure 2 will be right there in this game. This takes place before any of the Sonic games, even Sonic 1 for that matter. In fact, this is at least 50 years before Sonic was born.

I'd bet money on the fact that when this game shows up at E3, then this'll be based on Shadow's past, and all the flashbacks he had back in Sonic Adventure 2.

From an optimistic, non-biased view, this game looks promising.

*Now remembering that I hated seeing Shadow return in Sonic Heroes* Why disgrace a character that we've already enjoyed and saw die? He was good enough for a one-shot game appearance but fangirls and boys just have to be pleased...

Pushing those thoughts away, Shadow the Hedgehog looks promising in that it ditches the crappiness of Team efforts and goes back to single-player gameplay like that of Sonic Adventure.

Though it'll most likely end up as a so-so game with nothing spectacular besides revealing maybe one tidbit of Shadow's past =D

Here's a site talking about a Shadow game. It's gotta be the stupidest thing ever. It's a Half-Life or Unreal Tournament game with Sonic characters in it. I'm a really big Sonic fan and I played Sonic Adventure Director's Cut witch I totally loved. From what I saw on this page this is a stupid game with shooting and no subject and I don't want to see anything like this if it's with Sonic characters.

Big deal, if you ask me, I'd say that's a very stupid reason to hate the game. Is Shadow the first character to ever carry a gun in a Sonic game? No, because E-102, along with the other series had guns. Heck, even Robotnik had a gun in the cutscenes of Sonic Adventure 2, but did it mean that game sucked, as well? And this is just like the time when The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker was announced, and people got pissed, and constantly moaned, and complained about it's graphical art style. And THEN what happenend!? The game actually turned out good, and looked BETTER during actual gameplay than it did in the screenshots. What's my point, you're probably thinking? My point is to actually PLAY the freakin' game before you go off saying that it sucks.

One thing I could never understand is why everytime something new and original is being done, everyone gets pissed off, and then the whole internet is against it.

Post by: Runefox on Jul 24 2005, 09:45 AM: My main gripe with Shadow in general is that while he isn't that bad a character, he spawned the beginning of a craptacular growth of new characters with no depth at all.

This new game with him in it isn't on my 'hate' list, but it seems like Sega's just using Shadow as a cash cow and trying to throw in the Gamma gameplay with Sonic speed. While I'm sure that'd be fun, it's not how Shadow was played... But I guess we'd have to wait until the game is released to make the decision as to whether or not the gameplay matches the character.

It's teen. It's a Sonic game with gore and violence, witch means it probably has Death-Match subject (in other words, a subject like the "story line" in Doom 3 (in even more words, no storyline) ). DeusEx was the only shooter with a true storyline and true subject. So, not the fact that Shadow has a gun is the problem...

During the Game however choices you make decide wether you team up with Sonic and follow a good path or team up with Robotnik and become a bad guy.

Now that I see footage of the actual levels and what not, I think this game is lookin' good. But Charmy's voice in that game is just downright HORRIBLE. My god...I thought he sounded bad in Sonic Heroes, but this is even worse!
