Title: Sad Mac

My PowerBook G3 Pismo almost died today.

I started it up, the Happy Mac sign popped up, then the "Welcome to Mac OS 9" screen, then it went back to the Happy Mac, and finally a "Sad Mac" sign. As soon as the Sad Mac appeared, I immediately turned it off and went to school. When i turned it on the Happy Mac comes up, followed again by the "Sad Mac" icon. The Sad Mac stayed for about 10 minutes, then the Happy Mac came up, followed by the "Welcome to Mac OS 9" screen, and then my desktop appeared.

I run Mac OS 9.2.2 still because RollerCoaster Tycoon doesn't support OS X. :(

I got the dreaded Sad Mac icon today on my Pismo G3 PowerBook. :(

The HDD makes clicking noises when I try to start it up and it gives me the sad face icon.

I tried a 9.2.2 reinstall and nothing... cept for a very sad looking Mac guy on the screen.

I think the hard drive is toast. :(

No need for two topics. But sorry about that but i hate macs with all my heart so there is nothing i can do to help you.
