Title: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3...
Post by: Manda on Nov 06 2004, 07:49 PM
Yes, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 has been released for PC and Mac!

Sadly, it only runs on MacOS X... Why not Mac OS 9? Why are you forcing me to upgrade to OS X, Steve Jobs??!??!?!? I prefer OS 9 over OS X...

And, the Windows version stinks too. It requires DirectGAY 5.2.1 for the opening intro video. Yet the Mac version uses QuickTime for the intro video. Why not use QuickTime for both versions? Even though DirectX is lossless, Microsquat hasn't ported it to Mac yet! QuickTime is available on many platforms (Mac 68K, Mac PPC, Win16, Win32, and *nix!)

System requirements:

Mac OS X:
CPU: 766MHz PowerPC G4 or higher (1.6 GHz PowerPC G5 or higher recommended)
OS: Mac OS X 10.2 or higher (OS X 10.3 recommended)
Video: 3D-capable video card (all G5's come with it anyway)
QuickTime: QuickTime 6.5 required (included on disc)
RAM: 256 MB or higher (512MB recommended)

Windows:
CPU: 733MHz Pentium III or higher (1.5 GHz Pentium 4 recommended)
OS: Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, or XP (95B not officially supported)
Video: 3D-capable video card
DirectX: DirectX 5.1.1 or higher required (5.2.1 included on disc)
RAM: 256 MB or higher (512 MB recommended)

Rating: 2/10
An okay game, but has a lot of bugs. Won't run on my PowerBook G3 :(

5/10 Great game when your board. I bought the expansion but it won't run on Windows XP.
EDIT: Awesome game to play when you don't have internet for awhile. So I'm changing it to 8/10.

The game's awesome hands down. I've built a few custom Roller Coasters ^^
