PS3 can play blurays, have swapable hard drives, PS3 game discs are region free, etc...

you might want to look for a first-generation model since those can play all PS1 and PS2 games...though the system regionally locks them

the HD consoles are more or less the same, but I see the PS3 as the better between the two

I don't own any PS1/2 games or original xBox games
I have a 28" 4:3 TV

what do you mean with swapable HDD ? i can remove my friend's xbox HDD too. or you mean I can plug it into my computer ?

x360 hard drives are their own shape and size

a PS3 can accomodate any hard drive that fits, people managed to get as big as a 1TB drive functional on their consoles

i searched for PS3 slim HDD replacement and could they be the same used into early 2009 mac mini since they "clip" into the board if so i could upgrade to 160Gb my Mac mini and put the 120Gb into the PS3

I saw on playstation.com that i can copy music from a flash drive but what about video ? since i can see an icon for video in the menu and it also say that it act just like a PSP so i bet i can watch videos
If i can which extentions are supported ? flv, avi, xvid, divx...?

http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/video/filetypes.html (http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/video/filetypes.html)

also, there are video converters out there that can change videos into those compatible formats
