Here's the computers that I currently use:

My Compaq Presario 8000T "Tasty":
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz
RAM: 512MB
Screen resolution: 2048x1536x32BPP
Floppy drives: 1.44MB 3.5"
Hard disk drive: Lacie 300GB 7200RPM
CD/DVD drives: 16/8/8 DVD-RW, 64/48/48 CD-RW
Case: Full tower
OS: Windows XP Home SP2 (thinking about Fedora though >_>)
Browsers: Mozilla Firefox, MSIE 6.0, Opera 7.53, Netscape 7.2
Comments: My newest PC. Windows XP SP2 rulez!

My Gateway Prosignia EV700 "Unfabulous":
CPU: AMD K6/300
RAM: 64MB
Screen resolution: 1024x768x24BPP
Floppy drives: 1.44MB 3.5"
Hard disk drive: Western Digital 4GB 5400RPM
CD drive: 16x CD-ROM
Case: Mini-tower
OS: Windows 98SE (went back to 98SE because I don't like 2000)
Browsers: MSIE 5.5, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape 5.0
Comments: Used to have 2000, but it was slower with 2000 than 98SE.

My Dell OptiPlex GX110 "Video Toaster":
CPU: Pentium-MMX 200MHz
RAM: 512MB (max supported)
Screen resolution: 1600x1200x32BPP
Floppy drives: None (removed the 1.44MB that was in there)
Hard disk drives: Dual 200GB hard drives (originally one 8GB drive)
CD/DVD drives: 12/8/8 DVD-RW and 56/32/32 CD-RW (originally 32x CD-ROM)
Case: Full tower
OS: Windows XP Professional (no SP's) (Slow, I know...)
Browsers: Mozilla Firefox, MSIE 5.5
Comments: I use this for image and video capture.

Hard disk drives: 800MB C: (internal), 500MB D: (internal), 1.6GB E: (external)
CD drive: External 4x SCSI CD-ROM drive
Case: High-profile Desktop
OS: Windows 95B, Windows NT 3.51, MS-DOS 6.22
Browsers: Windows 95B: Netscape 5.0, NCSA Mosaic 3.0, Netscape 4.08, Mozilla 1.4, Opera 5. Windows NT 3.51: Netscape 3.06 Gold (4.0+ crashes), Amaya, Mozilla 1.1. MS-DOS 6.22: Lynx for MS-DOS. No sign of MSIE anywhere!
Comments: I've spent a hell of a time trying to keep this thing MSIE and DirectX-free, and so far so good. This computer got me interested in my fave Win3.1x game, Chip's Challenge!

My Macintosh Performa 575 "Lolita":
CPU: Motorola 68LC040/33
RAM: 20MB
Screen resolution: 800x600x15BPP (max supported)
Floppy drive: 1.44MB 3.5" (supports Mac and PC disks)
Hard disk drive: 1 720MB SCSI drive
CD drive: 2x CD-ROM
Case: All-in-one
OS: Mac OS 7.6.1 (all Mac OS up to and including 7.6.1 are freely downloadable at Apple.com's FTP)
Browsers: Netscape 4.08, iCab 2.9.8, AMSD Ariadna 1.2
Comments: My first Mac, came with PSP 3.12 (last for 68K) and Eudora 3.13 (last for 68K)

My Macintosh SE/30:
CPU: Motorola 68030/20
RAM: 4MB
Screen resolution: 512x384x15BPP (max supported)
Floppy drive: 1.44MB 3.5"
Hard disk drive: 80MB SCSI
CD drive: None
Case: All-in-one
OS: System 6.0.8
Browsers: None
Comments: Won't boot. When I try to start it, I get the Chimes of Death and the attached screw-up pattern (called SimasiMac by some). There is not even a Sad Mac with an error code to indicate the problem.

My Macintosh IIcx:
CPU: Motorola 68030/25
RAM: 8MB
Screen resolution: 640x480x256 color
Floppy drive: 2 x 1.44MB 3.5"
Hard disk: 240MB SCSI
CD drive: None
Case: High-profile Desktop
OS: System 7.1.1
Browsers: None
Comments: Boots fine, but won't run 7.5 or higher

Windows 2000 on anything under a PII 300 = slow... Consider Windows 95B or NT4.

It runs perfectly fine. It depends on what you have on it.
