I was given a Macintosh Performa 575 from a friend and when I try to start it up all I get is a floppy icon with a question mark. I know this means it can't find an OS to boot from, but what MacOS is recommended for a Performa 575?
It has these specs:
Processor: Motorola 68LC040 at 33MHz
Hard drive: 600MB
RAM: 20MB (4MB SIMM in Slot 0, 16MB in Slot 1)
OS: Unknown (floppy/? message)
Screen resolution: 800 x 600 x 256 colors @ 50Hz (512K VRAM)

Never mind... I have MacOS 7.6.1 installed now. I put a picture of Hilary Duff as the desktop wallpaper and upgraded the VRAM to 1024K. Now it can display 800x600 at 15-bit high color!
