Title: guess what america got shafted over this time
Post by: Yerix on Dec 20 2013, 03:03 AM
europe and japan get a free 3DS eshop download of SMBDX on 2/13/14 if they register an NNID before mid-january, america gets squat

my physical copy garbles up and even freezes in places, even resetted the data to no avail

getting real tired of your shit NoA

Japan's getting it, too? I thought that was a European-exclusive deal. This probably wouldn't concern me too much if I still had a copy of the game. Years ago, I ended up throwing it away after it had stopped working entirely.

i bet the save battery dying has something to do with the cartridges' erratic behavior, i'm gonna have to look into it when i feel like it

i feel this image is completely appropriate for this topic

thought i heard it hitting japan-side somewhere, and AU is getting it too

what i fear is that if it does end up hitting america, it'll involve some dickery with club nintendo, and i want nothing to do with that program, and i know they're gonna do it because for people that can't get it, they still have the original SMB

i hate the idea of "promo games"

It took a while, but Super Mario Bros. DX was finally added to the American eShop today. Unfortunately, I've already used up my remaining points on Mega Man Zero and a few other games, so I'll have to get this one another time.

i was going to post about it but couldn't find this topic for some strange reason, but still, bumbling as usual nintendon't 'o' murrica made us wait a year before everyone else

apart from the small screen and the butchered lost levels, this is my 2nd favorite of the SMB ports

I was expecting it to be somewhere on the second page, but as it turns out, it was at the very top of the third.

I've always had a soft spot for this game, too. One thing I really hate about eShop releases for Game Boy and Game Boy Color games is the inconsistent prices.

they basically have to write each game their own emulator to have it run as accurate as possible

GBC's a slightly harder job than the GB obviously

Code: (GB specs) [Select]
CPU: Z80 8-bit CMOS
CPU Speed: 4.19 Mhz
RAM: 8 Kbyte
Maximum Resolution: 160 x 144 pixels
Colors: Grayscale
Maximum number of colors: 4
Maximum sprite size: 8 x 16 pixels
Maximum number of sprites: 40 sprites
Minimum/Maximum cart size: 256 Kbit - 16 Mbit
Sound: 4 Channel

Code: (GBC specs) [Select]
CPU: Zilog Z80 (customized)
CPU Speed: 8 Mhz
RAM: 16 kB
Maximum Resolution: 160x144 pixels
Colors: 32,768
Maximum number of colors: 56
Maximum sprite size: 8x16 or 16x8 pixels
Maximum number of sprites: 40 sprites
Minimum/Maximum cartridge size: 256 kb - 16 mb
Sound: 4 channels

CPU and RAM is double that of the GB
system color palette is basically that of the SNES (15-bit)
