I realize I posted about this game a year ago, but I figure I'd make a new post. Several months after the release of "Digimon World Re:Digitize" for the PSP, Namco/Bandai announced a new version of the game would be released on the 3DS. For those who don't know what Re:Digitize is, it is essentially a reboot of the original Digimon World, where you raise your Digimon through its stages of life, much like a virtual pet. It is developed by Tri-Cresendo, and characters created by Suzuhito Yasuda, the character designer of "Durarara!!" and the "Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor" series.
The 3DS version of this game was released in Japan on June 27, 2013, and Western fans are excited to play it since it was first announced. There is a online petition (http://www.change.org/petitions/bandai-namco-games-europe-america-localize-digimon-games-again-e-g-digimon-world-re-digitize-decode-for-3ds-digimon-story-cyber-sleuth-for-psvita?lang=en-US) that had exceeded 10,000 signatures in less than a month, and is rapidly growing.
I'm hoping to see this game localized. It would be the first Digimon game we've had in years. If this is something you want to see happen, be sure to sign the petition, too (http://www.change.org/petitions/bandai-namco-games-europe-america-localize-digimon-games-again-e-g-digimon-world-re-digitize-decode-for-3ds-digimon-story-cyber-sleuth-for-psvita?lang=en-US).
UPDATE (6/29/2014) -- The petition has been updated to embrace any Digimon game - present and future - for any console. Redigitize De:Code and Cyber Sleuth being the two primary games. Links have been updated with the new URL to the petition.

A fan-made video promoting the campaign. It shows off some parts of the game and the Digimon that are available in it.

here comes another digimon game that most likely won't see not-japan soil either
-
Well, a Namco Bandai representative acknowledged the campaign, so, we've got that going for us, at least.

someone at bamco europe replied and wants to see the sigs go higher
-
what would be your reaction if a digimon ends up in smashfor as a playable char?
bamco is co-developing it, pac-man is already confirmed, there's a tamagotchi character in one of the mario kart arcade games...
-
If a Digimon makes it to smashfor, I'd scream in a coffee shop. I'd say I would also dye my hair pink for a week, but that's reserved for ReDigitize De:Code.
-
well there's an opportunity to make digimon relevant in the US again, and opening the doors to getting those games localized
now we wait to see if bamco ever goes for it

New link to petition: http://www.change.org/petitions/bandai-namco-games-europe-america-localize-digimon-games-again-e-g-digimon-world-re-digitize-decode-for-3ds-digimon-story-cyber-sleuth-for-psvita?lang=en-US
A representative for Bandai Namco Europe responded to a tweet from one of Operation Decode's followers regarding Cyber Sleuth, saying that "the petition" should reach 50k. They are using the petition to gauge interest in Digimon games outside of Japan. The creator of the petition has decided to make it embrace getting all current and future Digimon games translated, rather than just Redigitize De:Code.
The URL has been updated, and I will be updating the opening post in this thread with it.

So, in response to the campaign, it seems Bandai Namco has made a new Digimon game for PS3/XB360. It's a fighting game, much like Rumble Arena. If it sells well, maybe they'll be more inclined to consider a localization of Re:Digitize Decode and Cybersleuth. Sure, the game we're getting this fall may not be either of those games, but it is at least a chance to prove that there is a market for Digimon games - to put our money where our mouths are.
I made a separate thread (https://kitsuria.net/games-and-tech/digimon-all-star-rumble/) for the new game.

they're still aware

I saw that. The reason I haven't posted it here is because stuff like that is to be taken with a very fine grain of salt. I've seen "pre-orders" for shit on Amazon for things that never happened.
