Looks good so far. Perhaps, make the "chess board" bigger and black and white (with some translucency). Let's not make it a full body for the fox, just a front view - close up, though make sure you can still see the tails. The fox should have nine tails, three extending to each planet, and three waving freely in the middle.

The left planet should be reddish/purple, and the right one should be greenish/blue.
