Title: RollerCoaster Tycoon anyone?
Post by: Manda on Oct 08 2004, 05:31 PM
RollerCoaster Tycoon is one of my all-time fave games.

One bad thing about it is that it runs too fast on my new Presario (3.2GHz) :(

RollerCoaster Tycoon was released in the mid-90's for MacOS and Windows.

Here's the system requirements:
Mac 68K:
OS: System 7.0.1 or higher
Processor: 25MHz 68030 or higher (33MHz 68LC040 recommended)
Video: 512x384x16 colors or higher (256 colors recommended)
Other: QuickTime 2.0 or higher

Mac PPC:
OS: System 7.1.1 to 9.2.2 (OS X not supported)
Processor: Any PowerPC
Video: 640x480x16 colors or higher
Other: QuickTime 2.0 or higher

Windows:
OS: Win3.1x/95/98/Me/2000 (XP not supported)
Processor: 386DX/25 or higher (486SX/33 recommended)
Video: VGA, SVGA, or compatible supporting 16 or more colors
Other: QuickTime 2.0 or higher, Win32s required for playing with Win3.1x

Included on the CD:
The game (duh!)
QuickTime 2.1.1 (for the game itself)
Win32s (for Win3.1x users)

I still love this game, and play it often on my old 486.

I have QuickTime 6.5 installed on my Gateway. I installed it, and tried to play it on my Gateway, but it gave me a broken "Q" message and refused to start. Do I need to install 2.1.1 as well?

Yeah, that would be cool.

You can find this game on eBay or check http://www.the-underdogs.org/ (http://www.the-underdogs.org/) if you don't have this game =P

There is also http://www.suprnova.org (http://www.suprnova.org).

On HOTU, you might have to turn off your firewall, or change filter settings to download stuff. I only noticed this with Norton, which I no longer use. Since that can get annoying, if you do manage to download something, let me know, and I'll be glad to mirror it for you. - This is also good if the official website is no longer up, like with C-Dogs. <<;;
